Take Me to the Kaptin is a song by the Canadian rock band Prism, written by Jim Vallance. It was the fourth single from the band's self-titled studio album ''Prism''. “Take Me to the Kaptin” reached No. 52 on the Canadian singles chart and no. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the United States. In 1978 "Take Me to the Kaptin" received the Certificate of Honour, from Performing Rights Organization of Canada (PROCAN)". Versions The U.S. single version (3:01) on Ariola Records has the verses switched. The Canadian single version (3:04) on GRT has the verses in the same order as the album version, and has a slightly longer fade out. Both single mixes also feature more synthesizer and guitar riffs. Prism (band)
Prism (styled as PRiSM) is a Canadian rock band formed in Vancouver in 1977. They were originally active from 1977 to 1984 and have been active again from 1987 to present. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Ron Tabak, guitarist Lindsay Mitchell, keyboardist John Hall, bassist Allen Harlow and drummer Rocket Norton. The band's sound is a mix of album-oriented rock ( AOR) and pop rock and they have released a total of eight studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album. Bruce Earl Fairbairn (December 30, 1949 – May 17, 1999) was a Canadian record producer. He was active as a producer from 1976 to 1999, and is considered one of the best of his era. His most successful productions are ''Slippery When Wet'' and ''New Jersey'' by Bon Jovi, '' Permanent Vacation'', ''Pump'', and ''Get a Grip'' by Aerosmith, '' The Razors Edge'' by AC/DC, and ''Balance'' by Van Halen, each of which sold at least three million copies.
