Take A Long Line
"Take a Long Line" is a song by Australian hard rock group the Angels, released in July 1978 as the second single from their second album, '' Face to Face''. The song peaked at number 29 on the Australian Kent Music Report. In January 2018, as part of Triple M's "Ozzest 100", the 'most Australian' songs of all time, "Take a Long Line" was ranked number 35. The song was largely written by band member Rick Brewster. In a 2018 interview with his brother and fellow band mate, John Brewster, on ABC Radio 774 in Melbourne, he said that many of the lyrics in the song were inspired by characters his brother had encountered on the streets of Kings Cross in Sydney. The year of its release (1978), The Angels supported both Meat Loaf and David Bowie on their respective tours of Australia. The Angels are an Australian rock band which formed in Adelaide in 1974 as The Keystone Angels by Bernard "Doc" Neeson on lead vocals and bass guitar, John Brewster on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, his brother Rick Brewster on lead guitar and backing vocals, Peter "Charlie" King on drums. In 1976, King was replaced by Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup on drums, Chris Bailey took over bass duties so Neeson could focus solely on vocals, and they changed their name to just 'The Angels'. Their studio albums peaking within the Australian top 10 are ''No Exit'' (1979), ''Dark Room'' (1980), '' Night Attack'' (1981), ''Two Minute Warning'' (1984), ''Howling'' (1986) and ''Beyond Salvation'' (1990). Chris Bailey (musician, Born 1950)
Christopher Mark Bailey (31 May 19504 April 2013) was an Australian bass guitarist and vocalist. He was a member of various rock groups including Headband (1971–1974), The Angels (1976–1982, 2008–2013), Gang Gajang (1984–2013), and The Stetsons (1987, 1997). Bailey died of throat cancer, aged 62. Biography Christopher Mark Bailey was born on 31 May 1950 in Keith, a rural town some 225 km south-east of Adelaide. His parents Alfred "Bill" Bailey and Gladys (née Spencer) were publicans. Bailey was sent to Prince Alfred College in Adelaide as a school boarder from the age of five. From the age of 15, Bailey began playing bass guitar with various Adelaide bands.
