Tajik Air Force
The Tajik Air and Air Defense Forces (russian: Военно-воздушные силы и противовоздушная оборона Таджикистана; ) is the aerial military service branch of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, which currently consists of 20 helicopters. The force engages in search and rescue missions, as well as military raids. History The Air Force was established the same year as the National Army. The Air Defense Forces were established in 1994. As a result of military reforms and the common goals and objectives, in 2005 the two forces were merged. In 2007, it consisted of sixteen combat and support helicopters, prior to which the country had relied on the Russian Air Force for protection. Tajikistan is part of the Commonwealth of Independent States Joint Air Defense System, and its airspace is monitored by Russia. Search and rescue (SAR) is the search for and provision of aid to people who are in distress or imminent danger. The general field of search and rescue includes many specialty sub-fields, typically determined by the type of terrain the search is conducted over. Trainer (aircraft)
A trainer is a class of aircraft designed specifically to facilitate flight training of pilots and aircrews. The use of a dedicated trainer aircraft with additional safety features—such as tandem flight controls, forgiving flight characteristics and a simplified cockpit arrangement—allows pilots-in-training to safely advance their skills in a more forgiving aircraft. The Tupolev Tu-134 (NATO reporting name: Crusty) is a twin-engined, narrow-body jet airliner built in the Soviet Union for short and medium-haul routes from 1966 to 1989. Bokhtar International Airport ( tg, Фурудгоҳи байналмилалии «Бохтар», translit=Furudgohi Baynalmilalii Bohtar, russian: Международный аэропорт «Бохтар»; ) is an international airport five kilometers northeast of the city of Bokhtar (until 2018 was called Qurghonteppa), near the village of Levakant.
