Taj Mohammed (footballer)
Taj Mohammed (born 1924, date of death unknown) was an Indian footballer who played for then Calcutta Football League side East Bengal. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Playing career Mohammed began his club football career in 1948 at Calcutta Football League club East Bengal. He along with Muhammad Umer, appeared with Karachi-based National Football Championship club Friends Union in 1953–54, and also captained the team. After representing India at international level, he migrated to Pakistan and went on to play for the Pakistan national football team at the Quadrangular Tournament in 1953 in Rangoon. They finished as runners-up in that tournament, as India won title. He was also a member of Pakistan team that toured to Iran and Iraq in the 1950s. Taj Mohammad Amrothi
Taj Mahmūd Amrōtī (, ) (born in Deewani village, Khairpur, Sindh, 1857; died 1929) was a scholar, fighter against British control of India, and educationalist. He led the "Reshmi Roomal" and "Hijrat Movement" of protest emigration to Afghanistan. Amroti helped Khilafat Movement of Turkish Khilafat / Khalifah by sending financial help and troops of his followers, force named as Junood-e-Rabbani i.e. the Forces of Allah. Amroti translated the Qurʾān into Sindhi, gave lectures, wrote books of poetry, and edited the monthly journal ''Ikhwān-ul-Muslimīn''. Taj Muhammad Khan Swati is a Pakistani politician who is a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the third time. He is son of Haji Muhammad Yousaf Khan, who currently holds the title of being the tribal ruler of Trand area and head of political alliance named "Trand Group". His father remained member of Provincial Assembly for the 8 times and also served as Provincial Minister. He belongs to the Ashlor family of the Mamyali subsection of Swati tribe. Taj Mohammed is a citizen of Afghanistan who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba. His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 902.
