Taj Mahal (Pakistani Film)
''Taj Mahal'' is a Pakistani Urdu language film released on 22 December 1968. It is directed by S.T. Zaidi and was his first film in the country. Previously, he served as the assistant director of K. Asif's ''Mughal-e-Azam'' (1960). The film stars Mohammed Ali, Zeba, Habib, Yousuf Khan and Aliya. The music of the film was composed by Nisar Bazmi. A Box office hit, the film was released in December 1968. Plot summary The film is based on the romance of the historical legend of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who built Taj Mahal in the love and remambrance of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Tanvir Naqvi
Tanvir Naqvi (born Syed Khursheed Ali; 16 February 1919 1 November 1972), also spelled Tanveer Naqvi, was a Pakistani lyricist and poet. He wrote lyrics for 200 uncertain films, including Lollywood and Bollywood. He made his debut in Indian cinema with ''Swami'' film directed by Abdul Rashid Kardar, and later remained active in Pakistani film industry for over fifteen years. He earned recognition after writing "Aawaz De Kaha Hai" song for ''Anmol Ghadi'' film and "Rang Laayega Shaheedon ka Lahoo" song covering 1965 India-Pakistan war. He was born in Lahore, British India (in modern-day Lahore, Pakistan). He originally belonged to a family of Persian writers from Iran, and married Noor Jehan's sister, Eidan Bai. The Nigar Awards ( ur, , translit=Inʿām Negār, lit=Picture Awards) were presented in an annual award show to recognize outstanding achievement in Pakistani cinema. The honors are awarded by Nigar Magazine founded in 1948. The Nigar Awards are Pakistan's version of the Academy Awards. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists. Naseem Begum ( Punjabi, ur, ; 9 November 1942 – 5 March 1990), known professionally as Mala ( ur, ), was a Pakistani playback singer of Urdu and Punjabi films. Masood Rana ( ur, , 6 August 1941 – 4 October 1995) was a Pakistani film playback singer. He began his singing career in 1962 with the film ''Inqalab'', became one of the top male singers in both Urdu and Punjabi films for more than three decades and remained a busy singer until his death in 1995. Rana still holds the record of singing more than 300 film songs in each of the two languages - Urdu and Punjabi, an all-time record shared with Ahmed Rushdi and Noor Jehan. Kaleem Usmani
Kaleem Usmani (born Ehtisham Ilahi; 28 February 1928 28 August 2000) was a Pakistani Urdu poet who wrote ghazals, naats, patriotic songs and more than one hundred songs for thirty-seven Urdu films. However, he earned recognition as a lyricist by winning 2 Nigar Awards as 'Best Lyricist' in 1973 and 1978. He worked at Pakistan Television Corporation and Radio Pakistan besides working for Pakistan films during which he wrote lyrics for Urdu films.
