The Scots ( sco, Scots Fowk; gd, Albannaich) are an ethnic group and nation native to Scotland. Historically, they emerged in the early Middle Ages from an amalgamation of two Celtic-speaking peoples, the Picts and Gaels, who founded the Kingdom of Scotland (or ''Alba'') in the 9th century. Douglas John Taitt oco(August 3, 1902 – December 12, 1970) was a right fielder in Major League Baseball and a player/manager in the Minor leagues. Listed at 6' 0, 176 lb., he batted left-handed and threw right-handed. A native of Bay City, Michigan, Taitt spent 23 years in baseball (1925–1947), including four major league seasons between and . Taitt entered the majors in 1928 with the Boston Red Sox, playing for them through the 1929 midseason before joining the Chicago White Sox (1929) and Philadelphia Phillies (1931–1932). David Tait
David Tait (5 July 1987 – 12 December 2012) was a professional rugby union player for Sale Sharks in the Guinness Premiership. Career Tait played as a Number 8, although he could also operate as a Flanker. He also represented Scotland at rugby sevens. Tait made his Sale debut in a Powergen Cup match against Llanelli Scarlets. He "left the club in 2010 after suffering persistent injuries, having made just 40 appearances". Tait represented the England Under 20 team. He was called up to the England sevens training squad for the 2008–09 IRB Sevens World Series. Chris Tait is a Canadian singer–songwriter and producer, best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Chalk Circle and later the group Big Faith. Music career Chalk Circle Tait grew up in Newcastle, Ontario and his first band was called "The Casualties". After a few years in various bands he formed the group Chalk Circle (named after Bertolt Brecht's play ''The Caucasian Chalk Circle'') with Brad Hopkins on bass and Derrick Murphy on drums. The new band recorded a demo single "The World" and played around Toronto, eventually winning a CASBY Award for "Most Promising Non-Recording Group" in 1985. Charles Tait (15 November 1868 – 27 June 1933), together with two of his brothers, was an Australian concert, film and theatrical entrepreneur, but his most notable achievement was as the director and writer of ''The Story of the Kelly Gang'', an Australian film, regarded as the world's first feature-length film. The film was first shown on 26 December 1906. Tait was born in Castlemaine, Victoria, the son of John Turnbull Tait (1830–1902), a tailor from Scalloway, Shetland Islands, Scotland, and his English wife Sarah, née Leeming. John Tait migrated to Victoria in 1862 and settled at Castlemaine where he married Sarah.
