Taina Asili
Taína Asili is an American musician, singer, songwriter, poet, artist and activist. Born in Binghamton, New York to Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican parents, she first came to prominence in the late 1990s as the singer for the punk band Anti-Product, and later for her social justice themed music with the band Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde. Asili’s musical career has spanned genres as diverse as Afro-Caribbean music, flamenco, hardcore punk and opera, and her art is driven by her work on prisoners' rights, prisoner justice, climate justice and Food Justice Movement, food justice. Early life and career Asili was born Taina Del Valle in Binghamton, New York. Her grandparents were from Puerto Rico, and her parents Mimi and Louie Del Valle were born and raised in New York City. Anneli Taina
Anneli Taina (born June 21, 1951) is a Finnish politician who was Minister of Defence and Minister of Housing for the Finnish Government, and then Governor of the Southern Finland Province. Career Anneli Taina was born on June 21, 1951, in Imatra, Finland, which is located on the border with Russia in the east of the country. She trained in social work, earning a Master's degree in social studies in 1975. She then worked for ten years between 1977 and 1987 as a social worker in Tampere, Southern Finland. During this time, she won a seat on the Tampere City Council, and was a school board member. as part of her council role, she sat on the Urban Planning Committee. In 1987, she successfully ran to become a Member of Parliament. Taina then set on several committees such as the Social Affairs and Health Committee, Labour, and the Grand Committee. ''Enchantment'' is an English language fantasy novel by American writer Orson Scott Card. First published in 1999, the novel is based on the Ukrainian version of ''Sleeping Beauty'' and other folk tales. Various forms of magic, potions, and immortal deities also play an important role in the story. Plot The protagonist and narrator is Ivan Smetski, a young Ukrainian-American linguist who specializes in Old Church Slavonic, a language from 10th-century Ruthenia.
