Taimuraz Ruslanovich Friev (russian: Таймураз Русланович Фриев; born September 15, 1986, in Vladikavkaz) is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Ossetian descent representing Spain. He competed in the men's freestyle 74 kg event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the Round of 32 by Liván López . He competed in the 86kg event at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia. Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling.
