Tai Le Language
Tai Nuea or Tai Nüa (; ; , ), also called Dehong Tai (; , ) and Chinese Shan, is one of the languages spoken by the Dai people in China, especially in the Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in the southwest of Yunnan, Yunnan Province. It is closely related to the other Tai languages and could be considered a dialect of Shan language, Shan. It should not be confused with Tai Lue language, Tai Lü (Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Xishuangbanna Dai). Names Most Tai Nuea people call themselves Tai Le (, ), which means 'Upper Tai' or 'Northern Tai'. Note that this is different from Tai Lue language, Tai Lue, which is pronounced in Tai Nuea. Another autonym is (), where means 'bottom, under, the lower part (of)' and means 'the Salween River, Hong River' (Luo 1998). Dehong is a transliteration of the term . Tai Le Script
The Tai Le script (ᥖᥭᥰ ᥘᥫᥴ, ), or Dehong Dai script, is a Brahmic scripts, Brahmic script used to write the Tai Nüa language spoken by the Tai Nua people of south-central Yunnan, China. (The language is also known as Nɯa, Dehong Dai and Chinese Shan.) It is written in horizontal lines from left to right, with spaces only between clauses and sentences. The Tai Le script is approximately 700–800 years old and has used several different orthographic conventions. Tai Nuea People
Tai Nüa ( Dehong Dai: ᥖᥭᥰ ᥘᥫᥴ ''Tai Lə;'' Chinese: 傣那 ''Dǎinà'') is one of the Tai ethnicities in Southeast Asia. They are primarily found in the Yunnan Province of China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam, with some immigrating to the United States. There are, however, two distinct groups of Tai people called Tai Nua: one in China and Myanmar (Burma), and the other in Laos. Ethnonyms Tai Nua/Lua can be written as Tai Neua, Tai Nuea, Tai Nüa, or Dai Nua, and sometimes Tai Nau. They are also known as Dehong Dai, Dehong Tailurian, and Chinese Shan. Tengchong County

Yingjiang County
