Tai Enosa
Tai Enosa (born 1 October 1989, in American Samoa) is an American rugby union player who plays fly-half for the Seattle Seawolves in Major League Rugby (MLR). Professional rugby career Enosa has played for the United States national under-20 rugby union team, including playing in the 2009 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy tournament held in Kenya, and helping guide the US team to a second-place finish. Enosa was named to the US national sevens team in 2009, and in 2012 signed a professional contract to play full-time for the US national sevens team. Enosa joined the USA Eagles player pool in 2009 and made his test match debut in 2011 against Tonga. Enosa scored the winning try that put the USA Eagles over Russia in their final Churchill Cup game. Churchill Cup
The Churchill Cup was an annual rugby union tournament, held in June, contested by representative men's (and formerly women's) teams from Canada, England, the United States, and other invited teams (originally one and later three) from a wide array of countries. It began in 2003 as an initiative of the governing bodies of the three regular participants—Rugby Canada, the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and USA Rugby—in cooperation with the sport's worldwide governing body World Rugby (at the time called the "International Rugby Board" (IRB)).The main intent was to provide the US and Canada with regular international competition. 2011 Rugby World Cup
The 2011 Rugby World Cup was the seventh Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. The International Rugby Board (IRB) selected New Zealand as the host country in preference to Japan and South Africa at a meeting in Dublin on 17 November 2005. The tournament was won by New Zealand, who defeated France 8–7 in the final. The defending champions, South Africa, were eliminated by Australia 11–9 in the quarter-finals. The result marked the third time that the tournament was won by the country that hosted the event (following New Zealand in 1987 and South Africa in 1995). It was the largest sporting event ever held in New Zealand, eclipsing the 1987 Rugby World Cup, 1990 Commonwealth Games, 1992 Cricket World Cup and the 2003 America's Cup. 2009 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy
The 2009 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy is the second edition of the second-tier world championship for Under 20 national teams. The event is organised by rugby's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB). This competition, which is contested by eight men's junior national teams, was held in Nairobi, Kenya from April 21 to May 3. The competition was won by Romania. Original plans called for them to receive an automatic berth into the following year's edition of the IRB Junior World Championship, the top tier of the IRB under-20 championship; however, Romania ultimately did not receive that berth after the Junior World Championship was reduced from 16 teams to 12.
