Tai'an Railway Station (Taiwan)
Tai'an () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Taichung line located in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. The current elevated station is not the first Tai'an Station nor is located at its original site. Due to the re-routing of the West Coast line, the TRA closed the Tai'an Old Station on the Former Mountain line and keeps it as a tourist and historical facility while transferring the actual transportation service to the new station. Structure Tai'an Station is an elevated train station, and the ticket vending machine is placed on the ground floor, and passengers go upstairs to the fifth floor to take the train. There is an elevator for use by those who are physically disabled. An island platform is located between the tracks at the station. Houli District
Houli District () is a rural district in northwestern Taichung City, Taiwan. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Houli was organized as a rural township of Taichung County named Neipu Township. On 1 October 1955, Neipu Township was renamed as Houli Township. On 25 December 2010, Taichung County was merged with Taichung City and Houli was upgraded to a district of the city. Taichung

An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. Taichung Line
The Taichung line (), also known as the Mountain line (), is a line of the Taiwan Railway. It is one of two parallel lines in Central Taiwan, passing the inland area and Downtown Taichung. It has a total length of , all of which is double track. History The Taichung Line was first completed in 1908. After the Coast Line between Zhunan and Changhua was finished in 1922, the original line was renamed the Taichung Line. Former Mountain Line
The Former Mountain line () is a railway branch line in Taiwan operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration. The name literally means "old Mountain line" (another name for the Taichung line) and can refer to any section of the Taichung line that ceased operations when it was replaced by a newer rail. However, the term is most widely used to refer to the segment between Sanyi and Houli stations. The line was completed in 1903 and began operations in 1908. Operantions were suspended on September 24, 1998 with the opening of a newer route to the west, and all stations between Sanyi and Houli closed down. Tzu-Chiang Limited Express
Tze-Chiang (), also Tzu-chiang or Ziqiang, is a type of limited express train service operated by Taiwan Railway (TR). Of the five service classes operated by TR, the Tze-Chiang service is the fastest. Ticketing is done on the basis of mileage ( NT$2.27 per km with a 10 km minimum fee). Liyutan Dam
The Liyutan Dam () is a dam in Sanyi, Miaoli, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan. History The dam was initially constructed in July 1985 and was opened in November 1992. Technical specifications The dam has a total capacity of 126,120,000 m3 and an effective capacity of 122,710,000 m3. Its water surface spans over an area of 4.32 km2 with a maximum depth of 300 m. The dam forms the Liyutan Reservoir and discharges its water to Da'an River.
