Tai'an Old Railway Station
Tai'an Old railway station (Chinese: 泰安舊站; Tài'ān Jiùzhàn) is a railway station located in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. It is operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration as part of the Former Mountain Line. As the railway line was replaced by a newer line, this station was replaced by a new station to the west. The old station building was renamed the Tai'an Railway Culture Park and is preserved as a historical monument by the Taichung City Government. As of 2018, there are no scheduled passenger services at this station. History The station was opened on December 1, 1910 as the Da'an River Signal Station, which served as a signal box. A passenger building opened on July 1, 1912 and renamed to Da'an railway station in 1920. The 1935 Shinchiku-Taichū earthquake destroyed the original wooden station building. Taichung City Government
The Taichung City Government () is the municipal government of Taichung, Taiwan. History Taichū City Government was established by the Governor-General of Taiwan and the Japanese colonial authorities on 1 October 1920. Following the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, Taichung had been reconstituted as a provincial city government on 25 October 1945. A steam locomotive is a locomotive that provides the force to move itself and other vehicles by means of the expansion of steam. 1935 Shinchiku-Taichū Earthquake
The 1935 Shinchiku-Taichū earthquake occurred with a Richter magnitude of 7.1 (7.0 Mw) in April 1935 with its epicenter in Taichung, Taiwan (then Shinchiku Prefecture). It was the deadliest earthquake in Taiwan's recorded history, claiming 3,276 lives and causing extensive damage. Twelve seconds after the mainshock, an aftershock of 6.0 occurred, centered on ''Gabi Village'' (present-day Emei Township, Hsinchu County). Tai'an Railway Station (Taiwan)
Tai'an () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration Taichung line located in Houli District, Taichung, Taiwan. The current elevated station is not the first Tai'an Station nor is located at its original site. Due to the re-routing of the West Coast line, the TRA closed the Tai'an Old Station on the Former Mountain line and keeps it as a tourist and historical facility while transferring the actual transportation service to the new station. Structure Tai'an Station is an elevated train station, and the ticket vending machine is placed on the ground floor, and passengers go upstairs to the fifth floor to take the train. There is an elevator for use by those who are physically disabled. An island platform is located between the tracks at the station.
