Tahoma High School
Tahoma High School (THS) is a public high school serving grades nine through twelve, and is the only high school in the Tahoma School District. The school provides for citizens in southeast King County, and has been housed in multiple buildings, the current one being a three-story structure in Maple Valley built in 2017. Overview Tahoma High School is a suburban campus located near the intersection of two major state routes, Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) and Kent-Kangley Road (SR 516). It is close to Maple Valley Town Square, colloquially known as Four Corners, a major retail area of Maple Valley located at the intersection. Kentlake High School
Kentlake High School is a public high school, of more than 1,500 students located in Kent, Washington, United States. It is part of the Kent School District. History Kentlake High School was designed by the architectural firm Burr Lawrence Rising and was a prison gates and built in 1997. Built to accommodate 1600 students, the brick-exterior, two-story facility has for student use. Under a cooperative agreement with King County Parks, an adjacent site provides additional fields for Kentlake's athletic programs. Kentlake welcomed its first student body, the classes of 1999 and 2000 in grades 10–11, when it opened on September 2, 1997. Kentlake opened to grades 9–12 during the 2004–05 school years. Zan Fiskum
Suzannah Fiskum, known professionally as Zan Fiskum, is an American folk-pop singer and songwriter. Fiskum is known for her time on ''The Voice'' in Season 18 where she was a Top 9 finalist. Early life Fiskum was born and raised in Maple Valley, Washington. Her mother is a piano teacher, which led her children to become involved in music. Throughout her adolescence Fiskum became involved in plays and musicals. To her parents surprise she was comfortable and expressive on stage though offstage she was shy. Fiskum graduated from Tahoma High School in 2015. After high school Fiskum moved to Lakeland, Florida, where she studied music at Southeastern University. FIRST Robotics Competition
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition. Each year, teams of high school students, coaches, and mentors work during a six-week period to build robots capable of competing in that year's game that weigh up to . Robots complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals, placing inner tubes onto racks, hanging on bars, and balancing robots on balance beams. The game, along with the required set of tasks, changes annually. While teams are given a kit of standard set of parts during the annual Kickoff, they are also allowed and encouraged to buy or fabricate specialized parts. Running Start is a dual credit enrollment program in Washington, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Montana and Illinois which allows high school juniors and seniors to attend college courses numbered 100 or above, while completing high school. Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities may grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations.
