Tage Rita
Tage Rita is an agricultural engineer from Ziro Valley and is India's first kiwi wine brewer. In 2018, she was honored with the Women Transforming India Awards, organized by the United Nations and NITI Aayog. Early life and education Tage Rita Takhe was born in the Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. She belongs to the Apatani tribe. She studied and was trained as an agricultural engineer from NERIST ( North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology ), Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh. Career In 2017, Rita invested in a boutique winery - Naara Aaba. In doing so, she also found the solution to a local problem. She would brew wine from Kiwi, a fruit that was found in abundance in the valley where she lived. Nari Shakti Puraskar
The Nari Shakti Puraskar is an annual award given by the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Government of India to individual women or to institutions that work towards the cause of women empowerment. It is the highest civilian honour for women in India, and is presented by the president of India on International Women's Day (8 March) at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The award was instituted in 1999 under the title of Stree Shakti Puraskar, renamed and reorganised in 2015. It is awarded in six institutional and two individual categories, which carry a cash prize of 200,000 and 100,000 Indian rupee, rupees, respectively. Women Transforming India
The Women Transforming India awards are an annual contest supported by the United Nations in India, Indian government website MyGov, and NITI Aayog (the National Institution for Transforming India). They honour "exceptional women entrepreneurs, who are breaking the glass ceiling and challenging stereotypes". The first awards were given in 2016. It was announced that a shortlist of 10 names would be put to public vote on MyGov to produce three winners, but in fact out of nearly 1,000 entries a short list of 25 were put on MyGov for a poll which produced 12 winners, split into six winners and six runners-up. In 2017, 12 winners were selected from about 3,000 entrants, and in 2018 15 winners were selected from over 2,500 entries. Ziro
Ziro is a town and the district headquarters of the Lower Subansiri district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is included the Tentative List for UNESCO's World Heritage Site for the '' Apatani cultural landscape''. The part of the town which is the centre of economic activities and where the administrative offices are located is called as Hapoli or locally known by the Apatanis as "Hao-Polyang". Ram Nath Kovind (; born 1 October 1945) is an Indian politician who served as the 14th President of India from 2017 to 2022. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is the second person after K. R. Narayanan, from the Dalit community to occupy the post. International Women's Day (IWD) is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Spurred on by the universal female suffrage movement that had begun in New Zealand, IWD originated from labor movements in North America and Europe during the early 20th century.
