Taeyang (other)
Dong Young-bae (; born May 18, 1988), better known by his stage name Taeyang or SOL, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Following the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang pursued a solo career in 2008, releasing his first extended play, ''Hot''. The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. ''Hot'' was followed by his first full-length studio album ''Solar'' (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart. Taeyang's second studio album ''Rise'' (2014) peaked at number 112 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, becoming the highest ranking album by a Korean soloist in the chart, while its lead single, "Eyes, Nose, Lips", peaked at number one on the ''Billboard'' K-pop Hot 100. Big Bang Made
''Big Bang Made'' is a 2016 South Korean documentary film featuring popular boy band Big Bang on their tour, the Made World Tour in 2015, which became the most attended tour headlined by a Korean act in history. It was released in South Korea and Japan on June 30, 2016. It is the band's first film, released to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut. Synopsis In April 2015, Big Bang made a comeback after a three-year hiatus as a group, and their Made World Tour ended with a great success drawing 1.5 million people worldwide. The movie follows Big Bang from the beginning till the end of their world tour in a documentary format to give up close and personal view of their 340 day long journey on tour as they perform in 32 cities across 13 countries. The movie shows the five singers off guard in their natural state, having fun on-stage during the concerts, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the tour. ''White Night'' (stylized in all caps) is the third studio album by South Korean singer Taeyang. It was released on August 16, 2017 and is his first album in three years since '' Rise'' (2014). Background and release In January 2017, YG Entertainment announced that Taeyang is working on his new album, alongside solo concerts. In July, Taeyang began filming the music videos in Los Angeles and Alaska in the United States, and a spoiler of the music video was posted online by Yang Hyun-suk on July 22. On August 7, the name and release date of the album was officially announced. On August 9, the music video for the "Intro" of the album was released, which was shot in Los Angeles and Alaska. MAMA Awards
The MAMA Awards (formerly Mnet Asian Music Awards) is a major music awards ceremony presented annually by entertainment company CJ E&M. First held in South Korea, the majority of prizes has been won by K-pop artists, although there are other Asian artists winning in various award categories, such as for Best Asian Artist and other professional-related awards. The awards ceremony was first held in Seoul in 1999, being aired on Mnet. The K-pop Hot 100 is a music singles chart in South Korea, launched by ''Billboard'' in conjunction with ''Billboard'' Korea () on August 25, 2011. It is the second Asian ''Billboard'' chart after the Japan Hot 100. The chart used the same multimetric methodology as the US Hot 100 and rankings were compiled based on Hanteo Chart data, streaming and download data from Naver VIBE, and domestic radio and television music playback data. Updates were published on ''Billboard'' Korea's website every Tuesday, and appeared on billboard.com the following day. "Eyes, Nose, Lips" is a song recorded by South Korean singer Taeyang, serving as the second single for his second studio album '' Rise'' (2014). It was written by Teddy and Taeyang. The song peaked atop the Gaon Digital Chart and the K-pop Hot 100, and went on to become the second best-performing single of 2014. Background and composition On May 29, 2014, YG Entertainment announced the song as the title track of the album, and will be released simultaneously with the album on June 3, with the music video. ''Rise'' (stylized as ''RISE'') is the second studio album by South Korean singer Taeyang, member of the K-pop group Big Bang. It is his first album in four years since ''Solar'' in 2010. ''Rise'' became the third highest charting K-pop album, and also the highest charting K-pop album by a Korean soloist on the Billboard 200 chart by debuting at #112, #1 on Billboard World Albums Chart, and #1 on Heatseekers Albums Chart. The album also debuted at number one on the Gaon Album Chart. Background and composition "Ringa Linga" was the first single for the album, released in November 2013. The track is a hip-hop and EDM song with rhythmic rapping.
