The taekwondo competitions at the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin took place between 21 June and 23 June at the Edip Buran Sports Hall. Edip Buran Arena
The Edip Buran Arena ( tr, Edip Buran Spor Salonu), formerly Yenişehir Belediyesi Sports Hall ( tr, Yenişehir Belidyesi Spor Salonu), is a multi-sport indoor arena at Yenişehir district of Mersin, Turkey. Built in 1971, it is owned by the Youth Services and Sports Directoriate of Mersin. The sports hall has a seating capacity of 1,750. It was renovated for the 2013 Mediterranean Games, and the new sports hall went on January 20, 2013 in service. The venue is suitable for events of basketball, fencing, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, wrestling etc. With the promotion of Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi men's basketball team's to Turkish Basketball League in the 2005-06 season, the sports hall became a basketball league venue. The venue is also home to the women's side of the Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K., which plays in the Turkish Women's Basketball League (TKBL). Yunus Sarı (born January 21, 1991) is a Turkish taekwondo practitioner competing in the welterweight division. He is a member of Ulaştırmaspor, a club of the Ministry of Transport.Athlete is student of physical education and sports at Selçuk University in Konya. His two brothers Ali and Talha are also successful taekwondo practitioners. He won the silver medal in the welterweight division at the 2011 World Taekwondo Championships held in Gyeongju, South Korea. Nur Tatar Askari (born August 16, 1992 in Van, Turkey) is a world and European champion Turkish female taekwondo practitioner competing in the feather, light and welterweight divisions. She is of Kurdish descent. She was a member of the TSE Sports Club in Ankara before she transferred to Ankara İller Bankası. She is coached by Cüneyt Gülçek. Nur Tatar won her first medal at the age of 15. She won twice the European Junior Taekwondo Championships, and reached to gold medals in A-class tournaments in Europe. Andrea Robert Paoli ( ar, أندريا روبير باولي) is a Lebanese athlete who was the Taekwondo champion of Lebanon in the senior category for five consecutive seasons. Biography In 2007, she won the Lebanese Juniors championship and later in the year, she earned the bronze medal at the Asian Juniors championship. Eva Calvo Gómez (born 29 July 1991) is a Spanish taekwondo practitioner who competes in the 57 kg division. She was the European champion in 2014 and won silver medals at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 Olympics.
