Winnipeg Convention Centre
The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg (formerly the Winnipeg Convention Centre) is a major meeting and convention centre located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It has five levels including indoor parking for 729 vehicles, and three levels of various meeting trade show space totalling . The main exhibit hall has of pillar-less space. The convention centre is connected to the Winnipeg Walkway system via an above-ground walkway connection crossing St. Mary Avenue and Hargrave Street to Cityplace mall. The Walkway system also provides convenient access to the Canada Life Centre, the city's 15,300-seat indoor arena which is home to the Winnipeg Jets. Gaël Texier
Gaël Texier (born 1975) is a Canadian taekwondo athlete and coach. In addition to being the Canadian Women's Taekwondo Champion for five years (1999 and 2001–2004), Texier won bronze medals at the World Championships (1999) and Panamerican Championships (1994 and 2002) and a silver medal at the Francophone World Cup (2002). Biography Texier grew up in Saint-Méthode, a small village in Beauce. A Taekwondo school opened there when she was 12, and she took up the sport in hope of being able to break planks of wood with her hands. Academics In 2000 Texier obtained her bachelor's degree in computer science from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Vanina Sánchez
Vanina Paola Sánchez Berón (born March 13, 1979, in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén) is an Argentine taekwondo practitioner. She is a three-time medalist at the Pan American Games, and a silver medalist for the 60 kg division at the 1995 World Taekwondo Championships in Manila, Philippines. Sanchez made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she competed in the women's welterweight category (67 kg). She lost the first preliminary match to Philippines' Mary Antoinette Rivero by a superiority decision from the judges, with a score of 10–10. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Sanchez qualified for the second time in the women's 67 kg class after winning the championship title from the Pan American Qualification Tournament in Cali, Colombia. Darrell Henegan
Darrell Henegan (born June 27, 1961) is an American-born Canadian former taekwondo practitioner and kickboxer. Taekwondo Henegan's taekwondo career spanned the years 1979-2001. During that time he won numerous awards in four different decades. They included Canadian, Pan American, and North American Championships, as well as winning the 1981 World Taekwondo Games in Santa Clara, California. At that event he became the first North American to beat the Koreans in a World Championship Gold Medal match. Kickboxing Darrell competed as a professional kickboxer from 1984-1996. He finished with a record of 25 wins and 2 losses, with 20 wins by KO. He held numerous titles and was a two-time world champion. In 1988 he won the FFKA Heavyweight Title by decisioning Jerry Rhome and in 1993 he won the ISKA Cruiserweight Championship with a win over Przemyslaw Saletta.
