Taco Dibbits (; born 7 September 1968) is an art historian from Amsterdam, Netherlands and director of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Life and work Dibbits studied art history at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the University of Cambridge. He first came to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam as a junior staff member in 1995. From 1997 to 2002, he served as director of the Old Master Paintings department at Christie's, London. He returned to the Rijksmuseum as curator of 17th-century painting in 2002. As head of the department of Fine and Decorative Arts from 2006 to 2008, he led a team of curators of paintings, sculpture, applied art and Asiatic art at the Rijksmuseum. Taco Esgo Kuiper (11 November 1941 in Batavia, Dutch East Indies – 24 September 2004 in Johannesburg, South Africa) was an investigative journalist and wealthy publisher in South Africa. He was best known in the late 20th century as owner and publishing editor of ''The Investors’ Guide'' in Johannesburg, for undertaking and encouraging investigative journalism in South Africa, and for funding the annual Taco Kuiper Award in investigative journalism. Taco Ludigman (elected about 819) was the legendary second potestaat (or magistrate governor) of Friesland. There are no contemporary sources for his true historicity, nor are there any coins or other archaeological evidence. Taco Mesdag
Taco Mesdag (; Groningen, 21 September 1829Den Haag, 4 August 1902) was a Dutch banker and painter. Mesdag, son of the banker Klaas Mesdag and Johanna Willemina, worked with his younger brother Henry in the banking business of his family. Like his brother Hendrik Mesdag, he eventually also chose to paint as a profession. Together they played an important part in the Hague School Pulchri Studio, where Hendrik served as president and Taco as treasurer. He was taught by Paul Gabriël, among others. Mesdag is best known as the painter of the landscape of Drenthe. Much of his work was donated by his widow, Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar, to the Groninger Museum. Taco Ockerse (born 21 July 1955), known mononymously as Taco, is an Indonesian-Dutch singer and entertainer who started his career in Germany. Early life Taco Ockerse was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 21 July 1955, he spent many of his childhood years moving around the world, residing in the Netherlands, the United States, Singapore, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Germany. He attended the International School of Brussels, Belgium, and graduated in 1973. Afterwards, he studied interior decoration and finished acting school in Hamburg. Taco Scheltema, or Take Pieters Scheltema (16 August 1766 – 7 September 1837) was a Dutch portrait painter. Biography He was born in Harlingen as the son of an innkeeper named Pieter Scheltes Scheltema (1702–1771). After a short time in Amsterdam, studying drawing and painting with the portrait and landscape painter Pleun Piera (1734–1799), he qualified for admission to the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Upon graduation, he travelled through Saxony and Holland; eventually settling in Rotterdam in 1794, where he had been commissioned to paint the founders and administrators of the Batavian Society for Experimental Philosophy. He ultimately established his studio in Arnhem and, throughout his career, mostly focused on family paintings. In 1799 he married Jacomina van Nijmegen (1768–1825), with whom he had five children. He played college football at Michigan and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Kenneth Dale "Taco" Cockrell (born April 9, 1950) is a retired American astronaut, engineer and a veteran of five Space Shuttle missions. He served as Chief of the Astronaut Office from 1997 to 1998. Pre-NASA career Cockrell was born in Austin, Texas to Buford Dale Cockrell and Jewell Moorman. He graduated from Rockdale High School in nearby Rockdale, Texas in 1968.
