Tackey Chan
Tackey Chan(陳德基) is an American state legislator serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He is a Quincy resident and a member of the Democratic Party. He and Donald Wong were the first Asian-Americans elected to the Massachusetts General Court. Chan was born and raised in the Wollaston section of Quincy. The Massachusetts House of Representatives is the lower house of the Massachusetts General Court, the state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is composed of 160 members elected from 14 counties each divided into single-member electoral districts across the Commonwealth. The Massachusetts General Court (formally styled the General Court of Massachusetts) is the state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The name "General Court" is a hold-over from the earliest days of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, when the colonial assembly, in addition to making laws, sat as a judicial court of appeals. Before the adoption of the state constitution in 1780, it was called the ''Great and General Court'', but the official title was shortened by John Adams, author of the state constitution. It is a bicameral body. The upper house is the Massachusetts Senate which is composed of 40 members. The lower body, the Massachusetts House of Representatives, has 160 members. Donald H. Wong (born January 15, 1952) is an American businessman and politician. A member of the Republican Party, Wong has represented the 9th Essex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 2011. His constituency consists of parts of Lynn, Lynnfield, Wakefield and Saugus. He is also the President of Mandarin House, Inc., which manages the Kowloon Restaurant.
