Tabú Tek
Tabú Tek sometimes spelled Tabutek, or even TABU-TEK, is an alternative electronic rock band based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The band formed in the mid 1990s with a short but productive career and released three albums in their native Dominican Republic. The band enjoyed local success in the Santo Domingo rock scene and released music videos like "El Precio" which enjoyed rotation in MTV. While enjoying success in their native country, the band was never able to push for international success. ''Sintetik'', the band's last album, represented the band's maturation and professionalism but never made it out of the local scene. Tabu Tek later on withdrew from releasing new material but still play shows in the local scene from time to time. Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo (born September 12, 1967), better known as Beto Cuevas (), is a Chilean-Canadian singer, song writer, plastic artist, painter, and actor. He is the lead singer for the Chilean band La Ley. In 2008 he launched his solo career with the release of his album, ''Miedo Escénico''. In 2012 he released his second album called ''Transformación''. Music career 1988–2004: La Ley In 1988, during a trip to Concón, Chile, Beto met Mauricio Clavería, drummer for La Ley. Clavería invited Cuevas to join the band, which had just lost two founding members, Iván Delgado and Shía Arbulú. Enanitos Verdes
Enanitos Verdes (literal translation: "Little green dwarves", roughly equivalent to the English phrase "Little green men") is a rock trio from Argentina, formed in 1979 in the city of Mendoza. History The band started in 1979, with Marciano Cantero (bass guitar, keyboards and vocals), Felipe Staiti (guitar) and Daniel Piccolo drums. That same year, they performed throughout the Cuyo region. Later they traveled to Buenos Aires to record a demo, with unusable results that were never released. In spite of this failure, they continued doing shows in Mendoza and in Buenos Aires. In 1984 the band added two new members: Sergio Embrioni (guitar and vocals) and Tito Dávila (keyboard). ''Invisible'' is La Ley's fourth album. It is their second best selling album. The album reunites La Ley again with Rodrigo Aboitiz and invites a new member, Pedro Furgone, after the death of founder Andres Bobe. The album begins the dark era of La Ley. It was also La Ley's first album to have a song completely in French ("Deuxième Fois"). The album contains the number one hits "El Duelo", "Día Cero", and "Cielo Market". Backstory and Reception In 1994, Bobe died in a motorcycle accident, an event that brought the group to a major crossroad. It was Beto Cuevas who ultimately became most prominent in the group as it weathered the disaster.
