Taavi Rõivas' first cabinet was the cabinet of Estonia from to . It was a coalition cabinet of free market liberal Estonian Reform Party and Social Democratic Party. Ministers Resignations On 3 November 2014 Minister of Finance, Jürgen Ligi, resigned due of public pressure after scandalous Facebook post in which he insulted the Minister of Education and Research Jevgeni Ossinovski. Jürgen Ligi
Jürgen Ligi (born 16 July 1959) is an Estonian politician, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a member and the Vice-Chairman of the liberal Reform Party. He was Minister of Education and Research in Taavi Rõivas' cabinet from 9 April 2015 to 12 September 2016. Previously, Ligi has served as the Minister of Defence from 2005 to 2007 and as the Minister of Finance from 2009 to 2014. Sven Mikser
Sven Mikser (born 8 November 1973) is an Estonian politician. Career As a member of the Estonian Centre Party from 2002 to 2003, Mikser served as the minister of defence in the Siim Kallas' cabinet. Mikser was the leader of the Social Democratic Party between 16 October 2010 and 30 May 2015. He has been the Minister of Defence since 26 March 2014 in Taavi Rõivas' first and second cabinets. On 23 November 2016 he assumed the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Jüri Ratas. Mikser was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019. The Minister of Defence (''Estonian: Kaitseminister'') is the senior minister at the Ministry of Defence (''Kaitseministeerium'') in the Estonian Government. The minister is one of the most important members of the Estonian government, with responsibility for coordinating the governments policies on national defence and the military forces. The defence minister is chosen by the prime minister as a part of the government. When the position was originally established in 1918, it was called the minister of war (''Sõjaminister''). Anne Sulling (born 12 October 1976 in Tartu) is an Estonian politician and a member of Riigikogu. She represents the Tartu constituency as a member of the Estonian Reform Party. Between 2005 and 2006, Sullin worked for the Ministry of Finance on the Estonia’s euro changeover project. Urve Palo
Urve Palo (born 10 July 1972) is an Estonian economist and politician, a member of the Social Democratic Party. Palo was born in Haapsalu. From April 2007 until May 2009, she served as Estonian Minister of Population and Ethnic Affairs. She also served as the Minister of Entrepreneurship in Taavi Rõivas' second cabinet from 9 April 2015, but resigned on 31 August while being disappointed with the coalition with the Reform Party. Keit Pentus-Rosimannus (born 3 March 1976) is an Estonian politician who served as Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas between 26 January 2021 and 19 October 2022. He is a member of the Reform Party, part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
