Talia Pnina Billig (born May 12, 1988), known professionally as Taali, is a Grammy nominated American singer, songwriter, and record producer. She cofounded Rainbow Blonde Records alongside José James and Brian Bender. Early life and education Billig was born in New York City to a musical Jewish family. She first played piano at her grandmother's apartment in Washington Heights, Manhattan Washington Heights is a neighborhood in the uppermost part of the New York City borough of Manhattan. Rainbow Blonde Records
Rainbow Blonde Records is an independent record label founded by José James, Taali (musician), Talia Billig (aka Taali) and Brian Bender. The label was initially formed when James received the rights back to his first album The Dreamer from Brownswood Recordings, and grew to include original releases from a roster including artists Ben Williams (musician), Ben Williams, Taali, and Bright & Guilty. History Rainbow Blonde was founded by James and Billig in 2018 in New York City. The two met while Billig was working at Blue Note Records for Bruce Lundvall. In building Rainbow Blonde, James and Billig worked to create a collective as much as a new record label. Rainbow Blonde's collective includes house photographer Janette Beckman, filmmaker Madelyn Deutch, business manager Kristin Lee and many others. Erik Truffaz (born 3 April 1960 in Chêne-Bougeries, Switzerland) is a French jazz trumpeter, infusing elements of hip hop, rock and roll and dance music into his compositions. Early life Truffaz was introduced to music by his father, a saxophone player, and played in his father's bands growing up. Education Truffaz was inspired to study jazz when he heard Miles Davis' Kind Of Blue at 16 years old, and joined Switzerland's Geneva Conservatoire for university studies. Career In 1996, Truffaz signed with the French EMI label. Truffaz's second album on Blue Note, ''The Dawn'', produced together with Patrick Muller, Marcello Giuliani and Mark Erbetta. Jacob Collier (; né Moriarty; born 2 August 1994) is an English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His music incorporates a combination of jazz with elements from many other musical genres, and often features extensive use of reharmonisations and close harmony. He is also known for his energetic live performances, in which he often conducts the audience to sing multiple-part harmonies or percussions.
