TV Langen, nicknamed ''Die Giraffen'' (the Giraffes), is a German basketball club based in Langen, Hesse. The club men's senior team currently plays in the Regionalliga, the fourth tier of German basketball. Langen has played in the first tier Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) in the seasons of 1981/82, 1985-1988, 1984/85, 1988/89, 1990/91. The club is a cooperation team of the Frankfurt Skyliners, and is especially known for developing young basketball talents. The team's manager has been Jürgen Barth. Langen is a town of roughly 39,000 in the Offenbach district in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are relegated to a lower-tier league. The playoffs are played in a "Best of five" format. The winning team of the final round are crowned the German Champions of that season. The Skyliners Frankfurt, currently known as Fraport Skyliners for sponsorship reasons, are a professional basketball club based in Frankfurt, Germany. Their home arena is Ballsporthalle. Robin Clemens Benzing (born 1 May 1989) is a German professional basketball player for Fortitudo Bologna of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Johannes Herber (born January 17, 1983) is a former German basketball player. He was born in Darmstadt. In 2006, he completed a U.S. college career at West Virginia University (WVU). In America, he was generally known as Joe Herber. Denis Wucherer (born 7 May 1973 in Mainz) is a German professional basketball coach and former player. He is 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) tall and played shooting guard. Professional career As player Wucherer has played professional basketball in Germany (TV Langen, Bayer Giants Leverkusen, DJK Würzburg and Frankfurt Skyliners), Italy (Sony Milano, Varese Roosters, Benetton Treviso (basketball), Benetton Treviso) and Belgium (Telindus BC Oostende).
