TVR2
TVR 2 (, spelled out as ''Televiziunea Română 2'', "Romanian Television 2") is the second channel of the public broadcaster TVR. The channel was launched on May 2, 1968, but it was suspended from January 20, 1985, until February 19, 1990. From 2003, it has been a market leader in Romania with some very well thought television shows, such as ''Tonomatul DP2'' and the British television series ''Doctor Who'', but since 2015, it has been a general arts and culture channel. The main news television program of the channel is ''Ora de ştiri'' ("News Hour"), which is aired daily at 6:00 PM Romanian time. Also, another news program broadcast on this channel, ''Telejurnal'', is aired daily at 12:00 AM Romanian time on TVR 2, which used to be the main news program, until 3rd of October 2021. TVR1 has a total national coverage of 99.8%, virtually the entire Romanian population, and TVR2 has 91% national coverage. All of the other channels and networks solely broadcast in major population centers. Even though it does not have the largest audience, due to the dominance of the five private TV networks (which consistently get higher ratings in the urban market segment), it offers a wider variety of services, including webcasts and international viewing via TVRi. Jurnalul TVR
Telejurnalul is the main news program of the Romanian public television network TVR, broadcast daily on TVR1, TVRi at 14:00, 20:00 and on TVR2 (with a re-broadcast of the 12:00 show at 19:00). It broadcasts at different hours on TVR1 and TVR2, if sporting events that the two channels broadcast interfere with their usual TV schedules. Between 2015 and 2016, two ident changes occurred. On 14 September 2015, on the 20:00 edition, Telejurnal unveiled its new logo, graphics, and tickerbar which shows every top story. And in October 2016, it adopted a freshly, redesigned blue-red-white graphics package. On 3 November 2019, Telejurnal launched a new look at the same time when the HD simulcasts of TVR 1 and TVR 2 were launched. On 24 November 2019, TVR Moldova started adopting the 2019 Telejurnal look, while on 6 January 2020, TVR 3 and 6 other TVR regional channels started adopting the 2019 Telejurnal look with that change. TVR 3
TVR 3 ( ro, TVR Trei, ) is the sixth channel of the Romanian public broadcaster, launched on 10 October 2008. It is a generalist channel, centered on reflecting regional events. It will use reports from all of its territorial (regional) studios ( București, Cluj, Craiova, Iaşi, Târgu-Mureş, and Timişoara). The channel will not have specific time slots for all the regional studios, nor will it broadcast on a regional level. It will broadcast nationwide the same regional report. In 2020, TVR 3 launched an HD broadcast on TVR+ in testing. It's not officially released because the other regional TVR channels are not in HD yet. It broadcasts in 720p format. TVR Info
TVR Info () is a news television channel that broadcasts 24/7 mainly news, utility information, and live traffic images from the major cities through the country. It also sometimes broadcasts documentaries and sport events. It was the second niche channel launched by the public TV broadcaster, after TVR Cultural, and the third news television channel in Romania behind Realitatea TV and Antena 3. At its launch, the channel aired utility info, such as traffic and airport weather. Every hour it broadcast news (politic, international, sports, weather), in a Euronews-like format (no presenters, just image and sound). On May 2nd 2011, TVR made a rebranding of the channel and a significant programme change. Then it had a more dynamic programme, with news every hour and debates in between, competing with the other news channels, Antena 3 CNN and Realitatea TV. TVR Cultural
TVR Cultural () is the cultural channel of Romania's government-funded television network Televiziunea Română (TVR). It provided cultural news, documentaries about the arts, as well as various shows, musicals and theatrical pieces. It was closed in September 2012 and restarted in December 2022. History TVR Cultural began transmission in 2002. It was modelled on the Franco-German TV channel Arte and other European channels focused on cultural and artistic programming. Due to a financial crisis, TVR president Claudiu Săftoiu decided to end TVR Cultural broadcasts in the summer of 2012. There was widespread criticism of this decision, which came at a time when other public broadcasters in the Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland's Telewizja Polska and the Czech Republic's Česká televize, were expanding their cultural output.
