TVNorge HD
TVNorge HD is a High Definition television channel in Norway. The channel is a joint venture by TVNorge and cable and satellite-TV distributor Canal Digital which started broadcasting on October 3, 2008. It's the first Norwegian high definition channel, but currently only some of its contents is available in HD (HBO shows like ''Rome'' and other American series like '' Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles''). The HD station has the same schedule as the SD station. Broadcasts not available in high definition are broadcast in standard definition. The War At Home (TV Series)
''The War at Home'' is an American sitcom created by Rob Lotterstein that ran from September 11, 2005, to April 22, 2007, on Fox. It follows the antics of a largely dysfunctional Long Island family. The show ran for two seasons, but was not renewed for a third season. Plot The show depicts the daily lives of Dave and Vicky and their three children, Hillary, Larry, and Mike, on Long Island, New York, dealing with normal family issues. Dave is a middle class Jewish insurance salesman. He is often portrayed as insensitive and cynical, and sometimes as a paranoid, overprotective and hypocritical bigot. His family (especially Larry) find it difficult to accept his behavior. Dave is constantly scolded and insulted (and even punched once) by Larry for always picking on him. List Of Norwegian Television Channels
Television in Norway was introduced in 1954, but the first television program was only shown in 1958, and regular broadcasts did not start until 1960. Like Denmark, Norway had only one television channel until the 1980s. Some 40% of the population have cable TV, and 30% have satellite TV. Another 30% have terrestrial television only. In Norway, all advertising containing political messages and advertising aimed at children are prohibited. Channels such as TV3 are allowed to broadcast commercial breaks, as these channels are being broadcast via satellite from the United Kingdom.
