TV1 was an Australian subscription channel. The station closed on 31 December 2013, along with its sister channel SF (Australia), SF. It was replaced on 1 January 2014 by TV Hits (Australian TV channel), TVH!ts. History TV1 launched as part of the original Galaxy (Australian television), Galaxy line-up. The channel was jointly owned by Sony Pictures Television and CBS Studios International (CBS Corporation), and NBCUniversal (Comcast). The channel broadcast numerous sitcoms, dramas, Pre-2006 movies and other programming. It referred to itself as 'Always Great'. Fox Funny (formerly 111 funny, pronounced as "triple one") was an Australian pay television channel focused on airing popular American sitcoms from the mid-2000s to present, complementing the 1980s–2005 schedule of sister network Fox Comedy. The channel was closed on 1 March 2023. History On 24 October 2008, the channel was launched with a promo loop on Foxtel as 111 Hits, running in 16:9 widescreen in a run-up to its official 1 November 2008 launch as a companion to The Comedy Channel. The Carsey-Werner Company (previously known as Carsey-Werner Productions and Carsey-Werner-Mandabach Productions, before that, Carsey Productions and also known as Carsey-Werner Television) is an independent production company founded in 1981 by former ABC writer/producer duo Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner (now co-owner of the Boston Red Sox baseball franchise and Liverpool F.C.). Caryn Mandabach was made a partner in the firm in 2001 (she joined in 1984), but left in 2004 to embark on her own production deal. The series revolved around a fictionalized Philadelphia Police Department division that specializes in investigating cold cases, usually homicides. TV Tonight is an Australian-based website which features reviews, news and programming information related to television in Australia as well as OzTAM ratings information. The site was started by television critic David Knox in 2007 after listeners of his radio programs asked him for information they had missed.
