TTV Super League
The Table Tennis Victoria Super League commenced on Good Friday, 6 April 2007, with its first ever Team Draft. The 2007 Table Tennis Victoria Super League brought 18 of Australia's top table tennis players together in a 10-week series involving 6 clubs. The stakes are high, only months away from qualification for the Beijing Olympics all players will want to make their mark. Each team will involve 2 male players and a female. All players are State or National representatives. On the day there were 26 athletes, 17 male and 9 female, vying for 12 male places and 6 female places on six teams. Melbourne Sports Centres - MSAC is an international sporting venue located in Albert Park, Victoria, Australia. The centre was opened on 24 July 1997 at a construction cost of A$65 million. The cost was funded by the State Government of Victoria and the City of Port Phillip. The centre has hosted international events including the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 World Aquatics Championships. The centre has several swimming pools and international standard diving facilities. Simon Gerada
Simon Gerada (born 20 March 1981) is a right-handed Australian/ Maltese Table Tennis Player. His father, Joe Gerada was born in Malta and emigrated to Australia in the 1980s. Simon Gerada was born and brought up in Melbourne, Australia and began playing at the age of 9 after he witnessed his father win a shopping centre tournament. He represented Victoria in national junior tournaments. David Zalcberg ( altsb''er''g) (born 4 May 1981, Melbourne, Victoria) is a left-handed Australian former table tennis player. Table tennis career Zalcberg began playing table tennis at age of 12. He represented Australia at the 1997 Maccabiah Games in Israel. He was part of the Australian delegation that was involved in the tragic bridge collapse during the opening ceremony of the games. In 2003, Zalcberg competed in the World Table Tennis Championships in singles. He competed with the Australian national team in the 2004 World Teams Championships. They finished 37th.
