TNN (( th, ทีเอ็นเอ็น), also known as TNN16 ( th, ทีเอ็นเอ็น 16), an acronym for Thai News Network) is a Thai satellite, cable and digital terrestrial 24-hour news channel owned by True Corporation, presents news, documentaries and sport news. TNN has a sister channel called TNN2. History Earlier History TNN was founded as IBC 3 on 17 May 1989. It was the one of the first seven channels broadcasting on IBC satellite television platform on channel number 1. Later, on 1 November 1997, IBC 3 has renamed to IBC News and reformed its format to present news only. On 1 July 1998, After IBC reached an agreement to merged with the UTV Cable Network and formed UBC, IBC News has rebranded to UBC News and continue to broadcast on UBC channel 7. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. The term assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 (a rectangular TV that is wider than it is tall), so the 1080 lines of vertical resolution implies 1920 columns of horizontal resolution, or 1920 pixels × 1080 lines. In cable television, governments apply a must-carry regulation stating that locally licensed television stations must be carried on a cable provider's system. A ''chawan'' (; literally "tea bowl") is a bowl used for preparing and drinking tea. Many types of ''chawan'' are used in East Asian tea ceremonies. The earliest ''chawan'' in Japan were imported from China between the 13th and the 16th centuries. The ''Jian chawan'', a Chinese tea bowl known as ''Tenmoku chawan'' in Japan, was the preferred tea bowl for the Japanese tea ceremony until the 16th century. In Japan, tea was also mainly drunk from this Chinese variety of tea bowls until about the 15th century. HK Television Entertainment Company Limited (, or HKTVE) is a television service operator in Hong Kong operated by Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li's PCCW, through its subsidiary PCCW Media, which also owns an IPTV platform, Now TV and operating an OTT service, Viu. History The company was launched in January 2010, HKTVE has applied for an over-the-air license for PCCW Limited. HKTVE's license was formally approved by the Hong Kong government on the first day of April 2015, concurrent with the announcement that ATV's over-the-air license would be revoked on 31 March 2016. Upon approval, HKTVE plan to launch a Cantonese channel within 12 months and an English channel within 24 months. Cielo (; stylised as cielo) is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned by Sky Italia aimed towards young audiences, and is available on digital terrestrial television and on Sky satellite television platform. Originally planned to be launched on 1 December 2009, it was delayed to 16 December 2009. While the concept is very similar to Sky UK's counterpart Pick (where it shows reruns of programs already shown on Sky's UK channels), it also simulcasts Sky TG24 for news bulletins.
