TIFF Lightbox
TIFF Lightbox is a cultural centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located on the first five floors of the Lightbox and Festival Tower on the northwest corner of King Street and John Street. TIFF Lightbox features five cinemas, two restaurants, major exhibitions and galleries, a gift shop, a rooftop terrace, and learning studios. It is the headquarters for the Toronto International Film Festival and serves as a venue for other film screenings and smaller specialty film festivals throughout the year. The venue was previously known as the TIFF Bell Lightbox until its corporate sponsorship by Bell Media was discontinued in 2023. KPMB is a Canadian architecture firm founded by Bruce Kuwabara, Thomas Payne, Marianne McKenna, and Shirley Blumberg, in 1987. It is headquartered in Toronto, where the majority of their work is found. Aside from designing buildings, the firm also works in interior design. KPMB Architects was officially renamed from Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects to KPMB Architects on February 12, 2013. Bruce McDonald (born May 28, 1959) is a Canadian film and television director, writer, and producer. Born in Kingston, Ontario, he rose to prominence in the 1980s as part of the loosely-affiliated Toronto New Wave. McDonald has directed more than a dozen features films over the course of his three-decade-long filmmaking career. ''The Hollywood Reporter'' has called him an "iconoclastic filmmaker". Several of his films, ranging from mockumentaries to horror films, have attracted cult followings. Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located downtown in the city's entertainment district, it is home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Toronto Defiant. Opened in 1982, its circular architectural design exhibits a sloping and curvilinear glass exterior. It was designed by Canadian architects Arthur Erickson and Mathers and Haldenby. Yorkville is a neighbourhood and former village in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
