TIFAC CORE In Telematics
TIFAC (Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council) is an autonomous organization set up in 1988 by the government of India under the Department of Science & Technology to: look ahead in technology domain; assess the technology trajectories; and support innovation by networked actions in select areas of national importance. It is also called Government of India's technology think tank. History Government of India's Technology Policy Statement (TPS) of 1983 underlined the need for undertaking technology forecasting and assessment studies on a systematic and continuous basis. The formation of TIFAC was approved by the Cabinet in mid 1986 per the recommendation of Technology Policy Implementation Committee (TPIC). Department Of Science And Technology (India)
The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is a department within the Ministry of Science and Technology in India. It was established in May 1971 to promote new areas of science and technology and to play the role of a nodal department for organising, coordinating and promoting Scientific and Technological activities in the country.
