Tamm–Horsfall Protein
Uromodulin (UMOD), also known as Tamm–Horsfall protein (THP), is a Zona pellucida-like domain-containing glycoprotein that in humans is encoded by the ''UMOD'' gene. Uromodulin is the most abundant protein excreted in ordinary urine. Gene The human UMOD gene is located on chromosome 16. While several transcript variants may exist for this gene, the full-length natures of only two have been described to date. These two represent the major variants of this gene and encode the same isoform. Protein THP is a glycophosphatidylinositol, GPI-anchored glycoprotein. It is not derived from blood plasma but is produced by the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle of the mammalian kidney. While the monomeric molecule has a MW of approximately 85 Atomic mass unit, kDa, it is physiologically present in urine in large aggregates of up to several million Dalton (unit), Da. When this protein is concentrated at low pH, it forms a gel. Uromodulin represents the most abundant protein in ...

Tetrahydropalmatine
Tetrahydropalmatine (THP) is an isoquinoline alkaloid found in several different plant species, mainly in the genus '' Corydalis'' ( Yan Hu Suo), but also in other plants such as '' Stephania rotunda''. These plants have traditional uses in Chinese herbal medicine. The pharmaceutical industry has synthetically produced the more potent enantiomer Levo-tetrahydropalmatine (Levo-THP), which has been marketed worldwide under different brand names as an alternative to anxiolytic and sedative drugs of the benzodiazepine group and analgesics such as opiates. It is also sold as a dietary supplement. In 1940, a Vietnamese scientist Sang Dinh Bui extracted an alkaloid from the root of '' Stephania rotunda'' with the yield of 1.2 - 1.5% and he named this compound rotundine. From 1950 to 1952, two Indian scientists studied and extracted from ''Stephania glabra'' another alkaloid named hyndanrine. In 1965, the structure of rotundine and hyndarin was proved to be the same as tetrahy ...

Tetrahydropyran
Tetrahydropyran (THP) is the organic compound consisting of a saturated six-membered ring containing five carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. It is named by reference to pyran, which contains two double bonds, and may be produced from it by adding four hydrogens. In 2013, its preferred IUPAC name was established as oxane. The compound is a colourless volatile liquid. Derivatives of tetrahydropyran are, however, more common. 2-Tetrahydropyranyl (THP-) ethers derived from the reaction of alcohols and 3,4-dihydropyran are commonly used as protecting groups in organic synthesis. Furthermore, a tetrahydropyran ''ring system'', i.e., five carbon atoms and an oxygen, is the core of pyranose sugars, such as glucose. Structure and preparation In gas phase, the THP exists in its lowest energy Cs symmetry chair conformation. One classic procedure for the organic synthesis of tetrahydropyran is by hydrogenation of the 3,4-isomer of dihydropyran with Raney nickel. Tetrahydropyranyl deri ...

THP-1 Cell Line
THP-1 is a human monocytic cell line derived from an acute monocytic leukemia patient. It is used to test leukemia cell lines in immunocytochemical analysis of protein-protein interactions, and immunohistochemistry. Characteristics Although THP-1 cells are of the same lineage, mutations can cause differences as the progeny proliferates. In general, THP-1 cells exhibit a large, round, single-cell morphology. The cells were derived from the peripheral blood of a 1-year-old human male with acute monocytic leukemia. Some of their characteristics are: * Expression of Fc receptor and C3b receptors while lacking surface and cytoplasmic immunoglobulins. * Production of IL-1. * Positive detection of alpha-naphthyl butyrate esterase and lysozymes * Phagocytic physiology (both for latex beads and sensitized erythrocytes). * Restoration of the response of purified T lymphocytes to Con A. * Increased CO2 production on phagocytosis and differentiation into macrophage-like cells * Pol ...

Trihexyphenidyl
Trihexyphenidyl (THP, benzhexol, trihex, marketed as Artane and others) is an antispasmodic drug used to treat stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control. It is an agent of the antimuscarinic class and is often used in management of Parkinson's disease. It was approved by the FDA for the treatment of Parkinson's in the US in 2003. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Medical uses Trihexyphenidyl is used for the symptomatic treatment of Parkinson's disease in mono and combination therapy. It is active in postencephalitic, arteriosclerotic, and idiopathic forms. The drug is also commonly used to treat extrapyramidal side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment. It reduces the frequency and duration of oculogyric crises as well as of dyskinetic movements and spastic contractions. Trihexyphenidyl may improve psychotic depression and mental inertia frequently associated with Parkinson's disease and symptomatic problems caused ...

Tran started as a beer company, and was known as Ben Thanh Brewery and Beverage factory. Tran bought an old production line from Saigon Beer and fixed up the factory. He moved his family into the building, and raised his children on the premises. The company then changed to bottled teas and later expanded to energy drinks as well, beginning sales of their green tea in 2006 and herbal tea in 2009. In 2011 Coca-Cola offered to buy the company, valuing it at $2.5 billion. The company ultimately turned down the offer, as Coca-Cola did not want the company ...

Thermal Hydrolysis
Thermal hydrolysis is a process used for treating industrial waste, municipal solid waste and sewage sludge. Description Thermal hydrolysis is a two-stage process combining high-pressure boiling of waste or sludge followed by a rapid decompression. This combined action sterilizes the sludge and makes it more biodegradable, which improves digestion performance. Sterilization destroys pathogens in the sludge resulting in it exceeding the stringent requirements for land application (agriculture). In addition, the treatment adjusts the rheology to such an extent that loading rates to sludge anaerobic digesters can be doubled, and also dewaterability of the sludge is significantly improved. The first full-scale application of this process for sewage sludge was installed in Hamar, Norway in 1996. Since then, there have been over 30 additional installations globally. Commercial application at a sewage treatment plant Sewage treatment plants, such as Blue Plains in Washington, D.C., ...
