TEAM Linhas Aéreas Ltda. (Transportes Especiais Aéreos e Malotes) was a domestic airline based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, founded in 2001. On April 16, 2012, the airline had its operational license suspended and on October 3, 2014, the license was revoked. History The company's main objective was to operate in the market of scheduled regional flights, connecting the city of Rio de Janeiro to other cities within Rio de Janeiro State and neighboring states. Created in May 2001 as a charter company to render services for oil companies in the Campos Basin, TEAM began to operate as a scheduled airline in the same year between the airports of Santos Dumont Airport (Rio de Janeiro), and Macaé and Campos dos Goytacazes. Santos Dumont Airport is the second major airport serving Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is named after the Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont (1873–1932). It is operated by Infraero. TEAM Linhas Aéreas Flight 6865 (TIM6865) was a short-haul domestic passenger service between Macaé and Rio de Janeiro that flew into a mountain on 31 March 2006. The aircraft, a Let L-410 Turbolet, was conducting a VFR approach to Macaé Airport with 17 passengers and 2 crew on board when it hit the top of Pico da Pedra Bonita in Brazil. Everyone on board was killed in the crash. Brazilian investigative team CENIPA concluded that the VFR approach was inadequate, stating that the visibility at the time was not good enough for a VFR approach. Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport , formerly called Goiabeiras Airport after the neighborhood where it is located, is the airport serving Vitória, Brazil. Since 9 May 2006, it is named after Eurico de Aguiar Salles (1910–1959) a local politician and law professor. It is operated by Zurich Airport Brasil. History The airport was built in the 1930s and in 1943 a concrete runway and a passenger terminal were built. In 2005 renovation works started at the airport.
