TCU Horned Frogs Men's Tennis
The TCU Horned Frogs men's tennis team represents Texas Christian University in NCAA Division I college tennis. The team is part of the Big 12 Conference and plays home matches at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The Horned Frogs are currently led by head coach David Roditi, who was a three-time All-American in his playing days at TCU. History TCU first fielded a varsity men's tennis team in 1974 under Bernard "Tut" Bartzen, who would go on to amass more than 500 victories in his 25 years as head coach. The Frogs made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1977, led by All-American Randy Crawford. Fifteen more Horned Frogs earned All-America honors under Bartzen, and twelve more teams made the NCAA Tournament - advancing as far as the national semifinals in 1989 and 1996. David Roditi
David Roditi Jiménez (born November 30, 1973) is a tennis coach and former player from Mexico. He is currently serving as the head men's tennis coach at Texas Christian University, his alma mater. Born in Mexico City, Roditi grew up in Guadalajara and Manzanillo, then moved to the United States as a teenager; he attended high school in San Clemente, California. Roditi participated in 10 Davis Cup ties for Mexico from 1997 to 2000, posting a 5–5 record in doubles. He was also Mexico's Davis Cup captain in 2016. David Pate
David Pate (born April 16, 1962) is a former professional tennis player from the United States who won two singles titles and eighteen doubles titles during his career. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 18 in June 1987 and attained the World No. 1 doubles ranking in January 1991. His greatest success came in 1991 when he won the Australian Open doubles title together with compatriot Scott Davis and reached the doubles final at the US Open later that year. Reese Stalder (born 12 November 1996) is an American tennis player. Stalder has a career high ATP singles ranking of No. 956 achieved on 28 June 2021. He also has a career high doubles ranking of No. 63 achieved on 16 October 2023. He has won eight ATP Challenger doubles titles, six of them with Evan King. Cameron Norrie (; born 23 August 1995) is a South African-born British professional tennis player, having previously represented New Zealand. Esteban Carril Caso (born 24 May 1977) is a Spanish tennis coach and former professional player. Playing career A native of Gijón, Carril was a three-time All-American varsity player at Texas Christian University. On the professional tour he made his only ATP Tour main draw appearance in the doubles of the 2005 Estoril Open, reaching the quarter-finals. Jason Weir-Smith (born 8 August 1975) is a former professional tennis player from South Africa. Career Weir-Smith won the doubles title at the Coffee Bowl junior tournament in 1993, with Juan Antonio Marín as his partner. Ashley Fisher
Ashley Fisher (born 25 September 1975) is a professional tennis player who comes from New South Wales in Australia. Fisher turned professional in 1998. Fisher has never played a major singles match on the ATP Tour, but has won four notable doubles titles on tour. Corey Wittenberg Sr. (September 24, 1961 – April 25, 2022) was an American-born Australian professional tennis player. Karl Richter (tennis)
Karl Richter (born July 21, 1960) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Richter grew up Auburn, California, near Sacramento. As a collegiate player at Texas Christian University (TCU) he won the NCAA Division 1 doubles title in 1981. He and partner David Pate were seeded third and defeated Arkansas's Pat Serret and Peter Doohan in the final. This made them the first players in TCU's history to win a national championship in tennis. Turning professional in 1983, Richter spent four years on the international tour, mostly as a doubles specialist. His most regular partner on tour was Rick Rudeen and the pair were runners-up at a Grand Prix tournament in Auckland in 1986.
