LEF (journal)
''LEF'' ("''ЛЕФ''") was the journal of the Left Front of the Arts ("Левый фронт искусств"''"Levy Front Iskusstv"''), a widely ranging association of avant-garde writers, photographers, critics and designers in the Soviet Union. It had two runs, one from 1923 to 1925 as LEF, and later from 1927 to 1929 as '' Novy LEF'' ('New LEF'). The journal's objective, as set out in one of its first issues, was to "re-examine the ideology and practices of so-called leftist art, and to abandon individualism to increase art's value for developing communism." Productivism Although ''LEF'' was catholic in its choices of writers, it broadly reflected the concerns of the Productivist left-wing of Constructivism. The editors were Osip Brik and Vladimir Mayakovsky: fittingly, one a Russian Formalist critic and one a poet and designer who helped compose the 1912 manifesto of Russian Futurists entitled, "A Slap in the Face of Public Taste". The covers were designed by Alexander ...

Library Exchange Format
In integrated circuit design, Library Exchange Format (LEF) is a specification for representing the physical layout of an integrated circuit in an ASCII format. It includes design rules and abstract information about the standard cells. LEF only has the basic information required at that level to serve the purpose of the concerned CAD tool. It helps in saving valuable resources by providing only an abstract view and thus consuming less memory overhead. LEF is used in conjunction with Design Exchange Format (DEF) to represent the complete physical layout of an integrated circuit while it is being designed. LEF originated by Tangent for their Place and Route (P&R) tools, which were bought by Cadence Design Systems Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Lymphoid Enhancer-binding Factor 1
Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor 1 (LEF1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''LEF1'' gene. It is a member of T cell factor/lymphoid enhancer factor (TCF/LEF family, TCF/LEF) family. Function Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor-1 (LEF1) is a 48-kD nuclear protein that is expressed in pre-B cell, B and T cells. It binds to a functionally important site in the T-cell receptor-alpha (TRA@, TCRA) enhancer and confers maximal enhancer activity. LEF1 belongs to a family of regulatory proteins that share homology with high mobility group protein-1 (HMGB1, HMG1). These High-mobility group, high mobility groups regulate a vast array of cellular processes through the production of transcription factors, which go on to regulate some of the cells most vital processes, including chromatin remodeling, Recombination signal sequences, recombination, DNA replication, DNA repair and transcription. In this shared homology between LEF1 and other members of the HMG family, many of the mech ...
