T-43 Medium Tank
The T-43 medium tank was a prototype Soviet medium tank developed during the Second World War as a possible replacement for both the T-34 medium and KV-1 heavy tanks. The project's aim was to build a medium tank with heavier armour, but German advances in tank technology proved better countered by a more heavily armed T-34-85 and the T-43 was cancelled. History The T-34 medium tank was the mainstay of Soviet mechanized forces in World War II, produced in huge numbers. In May 1942, Soviet forces started encountering German tanks armed with the new long 75mm KwK 40 gun which could easily penetrate a T-34 at long range. In June 1942, the Soviet Main Directorate of Armoured Forces (GABTU) issued a requirement to two tank-design bureaus to compete in designing a "universal tank", which would combine the heavy armour of heavy tanks with the mobility of the T-34 medium tank. T43 Heavy Tank
The M103 Heavy Tank (officially designated 120mm Gun Combat Tank M103, initially T43) was a heavy tank that served in the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps during the Cold War. Introduced in 1957, it served through 1974, by which time evolution of the concept of a main battle tank had rendered heavy tanks obsolete. Design and development In December 1950 the U.S. Army made blueprints for a heavy tank reference design. In January 1951 it awarded Chrysler a $99 million contract to produce the tank. Chrysler tasked Robert T. Keller, the son of Chrysler Board Chairman K.T. Keller, with overseeing its design, and construction at the company's new Newark, Delaware, tank plant. The first T43 pilot model was completed in November 1951. Officials said the tank would "out-slug any land-fighting machine ever built." T43-class Minesweeper
The T43 were a class of open-ocean minesweepers built for the Soviet Navy from 1948 to 1957. It was exported to client states; the People's Republic of China and Poland produced additional ships. Some hulls were converted to other uses by various users. Examples remained in service in 2015. Design The hull is made of steel. Early ships were long with a straight-up bridge structure. Later ships were long with a double-level bridge structure and added 25 mm guns. Operators ; Albania received two from the Soviet Union in 1960. One retired in 2011, and the second had retired by 2015. ; Algeria received two from the Soviet Union in 1968. One was cannibalized for parts by 1989. Boeing T-43
The Boeing T-43 is a modified Boeing 737#737-200, Boeing 737-200 that was used by the United States Air Force for training navigators, now known as USAF combat systems officers, from 1973 to 2010. Informally referred to as the Gator (an abbreviation of "navigator") and "Flying Classroom", nineteen of these aircraft were delivered to the Air Training Command (ATC) at Mather Air Force Base, California during 1973 and 1974. Two additional aircraft were delivered to the Colorado Air National Guard at Buckley Air National Guard Base (later Buckley Space Force Base) and Peterson AFB, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in direct support of cadet air navigation training at the nearby U.S. Air Force Academy. Cooper T43
The Cooper T43 was a Formula One and Formula Two racing car designed and built by Cooper Car Company for the 1957 Formula One season, first appearing at the 1957 Monaco Grand Prix in a works car for Jack Brabham. The T43 earned a significant place in motor racing history when Stirling Moss drove a Rob Walker Racing Team T43 to win the 1958 Argentine Grand Prix, the first World Drivers' Championship win for a mid-engined car. Despite this achievement, the car was superseded almost immediately by the T45. The T43's last appearance in a World Championship event was the 1960 Italian Grand Prix. SJ T43
The SJ Class T43 is a Swedish diesel-electric locomotive originally operated by Swedish State Railways ( sv, Statens Järnvägar, SJ) and later other companies. It was built by Nykvist & Holm (NOHAB) in 1961–63, and equipped with Electro-Motive Diesel engines. Eight of the locomotives are equipped with GM's multiple unit capability and be operated with up to three other GM locomotives. They remain in service as shunters for private railway companies. History The T43 made it possible to phase out steam locomotives in Sweden, with none left in service there after 1963. Until the mid-1980s the T43 was used on main-line services, both for passenger and freight trains. The main area of passenger service was on Blekingekustbanan. T43 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics (track and jump events only), applying to athletes with "Double below knee amputation (or combined arm/leg amputation) or similar disability." It includes ISOD classified athletes from the A4 and A9 classes. Definition This classification is for disability athletics in the track and jump events. This classification is one of several classifications for athletes with ambulant related disabilities. Similar classifications are T40, T42, T44, T45 and T46. The International Paralympic Committee defined this class in 2011 as: "Double below knee amputees and other athletes with impairments that are comparable to a double below knee amputation."
