SWR Vokalensemble is the vocal ensemble of the broadcaster Südwestrundfunk (SWR), based in Stuttgart, Germany. It was founded in 1946 as Südfunk-Chor Stuttgart in 1946 to perform studio work for Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) which merged in 1998 with the Südwestfunk to form the SWRedigera wikitext The ensemble was awarded the Echo Klassik in both 2011 and 2012. Klaus Martin Ziegler
Klaus Martin Ziegler (23 February 1929 – 22 September 1993) was a German choral conductor, organist and Protestant church musician. Career Ziegler was born in Freiburg. He studied music at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and matriculated from 1948 to 1950 as an examined Kapellmeister. He continued studies of sacred music at the Kirchenmusikalisches Institut Heidelberg from 1950 to 1952 with Wolfgang Fortner, Meinhard Hermann Poppen and . He was cantor, from 1952 to 1954 in Karlsruhe-Rüppurr and from 1954 to 1960 at the Christuskirche in Karlsruhe. In 1957 he became head of the church music department at the Badische Hochschule für Musik. He also held a teaching position at the Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe. From 1960 to 1993 he was a cantor at the Martinskirche, Kassel. Vocal Ensemble
A choir ( ; also known as a chorale or chorus) is a musical ensemble of singers. Choral music, in turn, is the music written specifically for such an ensemble to perform. Echo Music Prize (stylised as ECHO, ) was an accolade by the , an association of recording companies of Germany to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. The first ECHO Awards ceremony was held in 1992, and it was set up to honor musical accomplishments by performers for the year 1991, succeeding the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, which was awarded since 1963. Each year's winner was determined by the previous year's sales. In April 2018, following controversy regarding that year's ceremony, the Bundesverband Musikindustrie announced the end of the award. Marcus Creed
Marcus Creed (April 19, 1951) is an English conductor. Born in Eastbourne, Sussex (South England), he was educated at Eastbourne Grammar School, King's College, Cambridge, Christ Church, Oxford, and Guildhall School in London. He moved to Germany in 1976 and worked firstly as a coach and chorusmaster at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. From 1987 to 2001 he was artistic director of the RIAS Kammerchor and worked with the Berlin Scharoun Ensemble as a pianist and conductor and conducted the Staatskapelle Berlin and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin as well as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. In 2003, he was appointed artistic director of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart. Yuval Weinberg
Yuval ( he, יוּבַל), also known as Kfar Yuval ( he, כְּפַר יוּבַל), is a moshav in northern Israel. Located in the Galilee Panhandle between Metula and Kiryat Shmona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council. In it had a population of . History The moshav was founded in 1953 by evacuees from the Old City of Jerusalem who originally arrived from Kurdistan on land that had belonged to the depopulated Palestinian village of Abil al-Qamh. It was named "Yuval" (creek) after the Jordan river's tributaries in the area and also referring to Jeremiah 17:8 ("sends out its roots by the creek").
