Hadsund South
Hadsund South (Danish: ), originally Sønder Hadsund, is a district in the city of Hadsund, adjoined to the rest of the city by the Hadsund Bridge. It lies 252 meters south of the city proper. Due to the separation from the rest of Hadsund, it is classified as an "independent urban area" by Statistics Denmark. As of 1 January 2022, the area has a population of 441. The area was first recognized in 1436. Today, Hadsund South Station and the Ferry Inn Hotel (Færgekroen) are located in Hadsund South. History The first credible mention of Hadsund South in written records appears in 1579 as "Hassond ferresstedtt" after the inn who prepared the ferry site (today Færgekroen). However, other names have also been attributed to the area, such as "Hadsund Husene", dating to at least 1736 and lasting until 1880. Originally, the ferry inn and local jetty constituted the entire settlement area jetty A jetty is a structure that projects from land out into water. A jetty may serve ...

Hans Kirk
Hans Kirk (11 January 1898 – 16 June 1962) was a Danish lawyer, journalist and celebrated author, who penned the best-selling novel of all-time in his native Denmark, '' The Fishermen'' (1928). From 1926 to 1928 he was among the contributors of ''Kritisk Revy'', an architecture magazine. Kirk was a long-time Communist Party member in Denmark and remained active until his death. In 1941, during the German occupation, Kirk and hundreds of others were arrested without charge by the Danish police in a sweep against communists and communist sympathizers. He was imprisoned and detained at the Danish prison camp of Horserød, but managed to escape in 1943, just in time to avoid deportation to the German death camps. Hans Kirk's novels, which in addition to ''The Fishermen'' include ''The Day Laborers'' and ''The New Times'', reflect Kirk's Marxist-influenced beliefs. His style is noted for subtle punctuation expressions. Perhaps the most striking is the absence of quotation marks, a ...

Himmerland
Himmerland is a peninsula in northeastern Jutland, Denmark. It is delimited to the north and the west by the Limfjord, to the east by the Kattegat, and to the south by the Mariager Fjord. The largest city is Aalborg; smaller towns include Hobro, Aars, Løgstør, Støvring and Nibe. In northeastern Himmerland is the Lille Vildmose, Denmark's largest raised bog, which sustains a rich bird life of international importance. Etymology It is generally assumed that the name Himmerland is derived from the tribe of the Cimbri since, in the ''Geography'' of Ptolemy (2nd century AD), the ''Kimbroi'' (in Greek ''Κίμβροι'') are located in the northernmost part of the peninsula of Jutland, called ''Kimbrikē chersonēsos'' in Greek (Κιμβρική Χερσόνησος). The Latin ''c'' and Greek ''k'' attest an earlier stage of Germanic in which the Germanic sound shift was not yet completed (*''k'' > *''χ'' > ''h''), or it has been assumed the Latin form may be derived through Celt ...
