São Paulo FC (basketball)
São Paulo FC is the basketball section of the São Paulo FC club, based in São Paulo, Brazil. The men's first team plays professionally in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Home games are played at the Multisport Gym Doctor Antônio Leme Nunes Galvão, which has a capacity for 1,900 people. The club was inactive for a long time but it resumed operations in November 2018, starting competing in the second-tier LOB for the 2018–19 season. After a second-place finish promotion to the top-level NBB was secured. In 2022, São Paulo made its debut in the BCL Americas, the top tier panamerican competition and won its first-ever continental title after defeating Club Biguá in the Final. Novo Basquete Brasil
Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) (English: New Basketball Brazil) is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB) (National Basketball League), in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship). The NBB is managed by the Brazilian basketball associations, which were founding members of the LNB. Format The NBB is the annual basketball league that is promoted by the national Brazilian league (LNB) organizing body, and is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CFB). The first phase of the season consists of fifteen teams playing against each other, on a home and away basis. 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup
The 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 32nd edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament was held on 10 and 12 February 2023 in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, on the Spanish island of Tenerife. It was the third time that the tournament is held in Tenerife after 2017 and 2020. Canarias (known as Lenovo Tenerife for sponsorship reasons) won its third Intercontinental Cup title after defeating São Paulo in the final. Bruno Fitipaldo was named the MVP. Rio Grande Valley Vipers came in third place, US Monastir in the fourth. Teams On December 6, 2021, FIBA announced the champions of the 2022 FIBA Asia Champions Cup would be added to the competition. The 2022 Liga Sudamericana de Básquetbol was the 25th season of the Liga Sudamericana de Básquetbol (LSB), the second tier of basketball in South America organised by FIBA Americas. It was the first edition since the 2019 season, after the league had a 3-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 Basketball Champions League Americas season was the 14th edition of the top-tier level professional club basketball competition in the Americas and the second of the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA) since launched by FIBA in 2019. The season began on 31 January 2021 and ended on 13 April 2021. Flamengo won its second continental championship after defeating Real Estelí in the final in Managua. Marcus Vinicius Vieira de Souza (born May 31, 1984), commonly known as Marquinhos Vieira, or simply Marquinhos, is a Brazilian professional basketball player.
