Lucas Fernandes Mariano (born 24 September 1993) is a Brazilian basketball player who plays for Franca of the NBB. Youth career Born in Planaltina, Lucas moved with his family to Franca when he was just five years old. Encouraged by his mother, a former professional athlete with passages through Brasília, Ponta Grossa and Franca, Lucas began his career in basketball at Escola Lance Livre, aged just seven. At age 11, he joined the ASPA (Association of Parents and Friends of Franca Basketball), which serves as the base for Franca. Professional career In the first seasons for the professional team, Lucas had little time on the court, often not even leaving the bench. 2016–17 NBB Season
The 2016–17 NBB season was the 9th season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. Once again this tournament was organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB also qualified teams for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and FIBA Americas League. This season fifteen teams played each other in the regular season. At the end of the home and away matches round the top four teams qualified for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, in a five-match series. This season maintained 15/16's playoff method of best of 5 games, played on the 1-2-1-1 format. For this season, the last two regular season placed teams were relegated to the Liga Ouro, the NBB second division. Only the Liga Ouro winner received the right to contest NBB in the next year. Lucas Dias Silva, commonly known as either Lucas Dias, or simply as Lucas (born July 6, 1995) is a Brazilian professional basketball player who currently plays for Franca of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Professional career Dias was named Jordan Brand Classic International MVP in 2012. On April 21, 2015, it was announced that he would enter the 2015 NBA draft. São José dos Campos Basketball, or simply Sao José Basketball, is a Brazilian professional basketball club that is based in São José dos Campos, São Paulo State. The 2022 FIBA AmeriCup was the 19th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup, the main tournament for senior men's basketball national teams of the FIBA Americas. FIBA AmeriCup
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organised the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament.
