Szymon Niemiec
Szymon Niemiec (born 5 October 1977, in Warsaw) is a Polish priest, gay rights activist, journalist, photographer, and politician. He is the founder of the first Polish Gay Pride parade, ''Parada Równości'' held in 2001. From 2000 to 2006, Niemiec held the post of Cultural Ambassador of Poland to the International Lesbian and Gay Culture Network. From 2001 to 2005, he was President of the International Lesbian and Gay Culture Association in Poland. Niemiec has been a member of the Union of the Left party since 2002, and on 6 May 2005 he was elected vice president. Since 2008 he is also a pastor of Free Reformed Church of Poland, a progressive Christian denomination. Since 2010 he serves as Elder in Full Connection and Dean of Missionary Conference for Europe in Christian United Church of Poland. Szymon Szymonowic (in Latin, Simon Simonides; in Armenian, Շիմոն Շիմոնովիչ; also, in Polish, "Szymonowicz" and "Bendoński"; born Lwów, 24 October 1558 – died 5 May 1629, Czarnięcin, near Zamość) was a Polish Renaissance poet. He was known as "the Polish Pindar." Life Szymonowic studied in Poland ( Lwów, Kraków), France and Belgium. From 1586 he was associated with Grand Hetman and Royal Chancellor Jan Zamoyski, with whom in 1593–1605 he organized the Zamojski Academy. In 1590 he was elevated to the nobility ('' szlachta''), with Kościesza coat-of-arms. A humanist fluent in Greek and Latin, Szymonowic wrote in Polish ''Sielanki'' (Pastorals, 1614), a work influenced by the pastoral poems of Virgil and Theocritus. Szymon Josiah Borzestowski (18 February 1989 – 2 December 2012), known by his stage name Szymon, was an Australian musician. His debut album, ''Tigersapp'', was released three years after his death and was nominated for a 2015 ARIA Awards, ARIA Award for ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Adult Contemporary Album and debuted at #21 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Szymon began working on his album in 2007, when he was eighteen years old. Production was put on hold in early 2010 due to mental health issues. Shortly after Szymon had committed suicide, in 2012, Mark Holland, a producer from EMI, continued mixing the songs, and the final result was released in August 2015, titled ''Tigersapp''. Szymon's younger brother Dom, who is known by others as Donnie, is the drummer of the Australian indie rock group Gang of Youths. Szymon Goldberg
Szymon Goldberg (1 June 190919 July 1993) was a Polish-born Jewish classical music, classical violinist and Conducting, conductor, latterly an American. Born in Włocławek, Congress Poland, Goldberg played the violin as a child growing up in Warsaw. His first teacher was Henryk Czaplinski, a pupil of the great Czech violinist Otakar Ševčík; his second was Mieczysław Michałowicz, a pupil of Leopold Auer. In 1917, at age eight, Goldberg moved to Berlin to study the violin with the legendary pedagogue Carl Flesch. He was also a student of Josef Wolfsthal. After a recital in Warsaw in 1921, and a debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1924 in which he played three concertos, he was engaged as concert-master of the Dresden Philharmonic from 1925 to 1929. Szymon Konarski (1808–1839) was a 19th-century Polish- Lithuanian radical democratic politician and revolutionary, one of the leaders of the November Uprising of 1831. As a politician, he supported the radical idea of social and economic equality for all men, as well as the right of political and national liberty and self-governance. Konarski supported the idea of land reform in the form of parceling out aristocratic estates among the poor peasants, and opposed the clergy. Szymon Askenazy (December 24, 1865, Zawichost – June 22, 1935, Warsaw) was a Jewish-Polish historian, educator, statesman and diplomat, founder of the Askenazy school. He was the first Polish representative at the League of Nations. His work as a historian was influential in defining the creation and history of the Polish nation. Biography Persuaded by his father, Askenazy studied law at the Imperial University of Warsaw in the 1880s. After graduation, he worked as a lawyer; however, all the spare time he devoted to reading books in various languages. In April 1893, he went to Göttingen to study history. He was influenced by the professor of medieval and modern history Max Lehmann under whose supervision he wrote doctoral dissertation ''Die letzte Polnische Koenigswahl'' (1894). Szymon Czechowicz (July 1689 – 21 July 1775) was a prominent Poland, Polish painter of the Baroque, considered one of the most accomplished painters of 18th century Christian art, sacral painting in Poland. Szymon Datner (Kraków, 2 February 1902 – 8 December 1989, Warsaw) was a Polish historian, Holocaust survivor and underground operative from Białystok, best known for his studies of the Nazi war crimes and events of The Holocaust in the Białystok region. His 1946 ''Walka i zagłada białostockiego ghetta'' was one of the first studies of the Białystok Ghetto. Life to 1945 In 1928 Datner settled in Białystok. Before the outbreak of World War II, he worked as a physical-education teacher at a Jewish secondary school in Białystok. He lived in that city with his wife and two daughters through the Soviet occupation of eastern Poland. After the German attack on the Soviet Union, he was forced with his family into the Białystok Ghetto. On 24 May 1943 he helped smuggle several persons out of the Ghetto.
