Syrja Vlora
Syrja Vlora (1860–1940), usually referred as Syrja Bey Vlora ( tr, Avlonyalı Süreyya Bey), was an Ottoman Albanian politician, an active figure of the Albanian Declaration of Independence in 1912 and one of the delegates of the Assembly of Vlorë. Biography Syrja Bey was born in Vlorë, back then Ottoman Empire, in 1860. He was a member of the distinguished wealthy landowning Vlora family, historically successful through the ranks of Ottoman administration and military for almost 4 centuries. He was the brother of the Grand Vizier Avlonyalı Ferid Paşa (1851-1914) and both were sons of Mustafa Pashë Vlora. Vlora was also related to Ismail Qemali, both being political rivals at the same time. He was married to the sister of Essad Toptani. Vlorë
Vlorë ( , ; sq-definite, Vlora) is the third most populous city of the Republic of Albania and seat of Vlorë County and Vlorë Municipality. Located in southwestern Albania, Vlorë sprawls on the Bay of Vlorë and is surrounded by the foothills of the Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Adriatic and Ionian Sea Coasts. 1912 Ottoman General Election
Early general elections were held in the Ottoman Empire in April 1912. Due to electoral fraud and brutal electioneering, which earned the elections the nickname Sopalı Seçimler ("Election of Clubs"), the ruling Committee of Union and Progress won 269 of the 275 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, whilst the opposition Liberal Entente (also known as the Freedom and Accord Party or the Liberal Union) only won six seats. Eqrem Bey Vlora (1 December 1885 – 30 March 1964) was an Albanian lord, politician, writer, and one of the delegates to the Assembly of Vlorë, which proclaimed the Albanian Declaration of Independence on November 28, 1912. He is described as The Last of Beys (), the embodiment of the Albanian aristocracy of the time, although he came from a caste founded on the principles of Ottoman military fief. Përmet (; sq-definite, Permeti) is a city and municipality in Gjirokastër County, southern Albania.
