Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi (مولانا سيد نقوى) is a Twelver Shia Muslim cleric from India. He is president of the office of Shia Markazi Chand Committee in Lucknow He is one of the prominent Shia clerics of Lucknow. Family background He comes from a family of scholars known as ''"Khandan-e-Ijtehad"'', and traces his lineage from Dildar Ali Naseerabadi (also known as Ghufran Ma'ab), their ancestors came from Sabzevar. Sabzevar ( fa, سبزوار ), previously known as Beyhagh (also spelled "Beihagh"; fa, بيهق), is a city and capital of Sabzevar County, in Razavi Khorasan Province, approximately west of the provincial capital Mashhad, in northeastern Iran. The Ijtihadi family (or ''Khandān-e-Ijtihād'') is sub-branch of the '' Naqvis of Darul Ijtihad Jais and Nasirabad''. The family uses last name " Naqvi" to denote that they are descendants of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through the lineage of the Imam Ali al-Naqi. Roots The famous Oudh family of Sayyids of Jais settled in Rae Bareli during the eleventh century and has remained there ever since.
