Sydney Wigham Smith
Sydney Wigham Smith (c. 1866 – 14 December 1933) was an architect in Melbourne, Australia, principal of the firm of Sydney Smith, Ogg and Serpell. History Smith was a son of Sarah Ann Smith, née Carter, and Sydney William Smith (died June 1886), the first engineer of the St Kilda Road Board, founding his own architectural practice in 1852. On the death of his father, Smith took over his business, and was joined in partnership by Charles Alfred Ogg in 1891 and Charles Edward Serpell in 1921. Armadale is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Herbert Henry Smith
Herbert Henry Smith (29 January 1871 – 25 November 1935) was an Australian politician. He was born in St Kilda to architect Sydney William Smith and Sarah Ann Carter. He attended Alma Road Grammar School and became an importer, dealing mainly in bicycle parts and jewellery. He served on Melbourne City Council from 1913 to 1922, where he became known as an extreme conservative within the Nationalist Party. In 1921 he won a by-election for Melbourne Province in the Victorian Legislative Council. He served until his death at South Yarra in 1935. Ivanhoe is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Banyule local government area. St Philip's Church, Sydney is the oldest Anglican church parish in Australia. The church is located in the Sydney city centre between York Street, Clarence and Jamison Streets on a location known as Church Hill, so sometimes called Church Hill Anglican. The ''Prahran Telegraph'' was a weekly newspaper published from 1860 to 1930 in Prahran, an inner-suburb of the city of Melbourne, Australia. No copy pre-1866 is known to have survived. From 1866 (or earlier) until December 1888, the paper was called the ''Telegraph and St Kilda, Prahran and South Yarra Guardian''. From January 1889 until 7 December 1902, the paper was known simply as the ''Prahran Telegraph''. From 13 December 1902 the banner head read the ''Prahran Telegraph, with which is incorporated the St Kilda Advertiser and the Malvern Argus''. The newspaper was probably started by Howard Spensley, who sold it within several years to William Osment. The preceding ''Prahran and St Kilda Advertiser'' was first published by John Hartley in 1857, and continued until at least 1861.
