''Switzer Unlimited'' is a Canadian talk show television series which aired on CBC Television in 1976. Premise This series was broadcast as a temporary replacement for ''The Bob McLean Show'' from August, following the conclusion of CBC's broadcast efforts for the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Regular participants included Bill Alexander (artist), Guy Bannerman (broadcaster), Phyllis Coleman (yoga), Doug Collins (journalist), Mike Halleran (environment), Uno Langman (antiques), Barry Leach (environment), Peter Lenak (lawyer), John Lindenlaub (outdoor cooking), Hannah Smith (graphology) and David Tarrant (gardening). CBC Television (also known as CBC TV) is a Canadian English-language broadcast television network owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the national public broadcaster. The network began operations on September 6, 1952. Its French-language counterpart is Ici Radio-Canada Télé. The Bob McLean Show
''The Bob McLean Show'' was a Canadian talk show television series which aired on CBC Television from 1975 to 1981. Premise CBC Television created this series in 1975 to replace ''Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date'' whose host had left the network for another Toronto-based broadcaster. Bob McLean hosted this new talk show from the lower floor of the Cumberland Terrace, a small downtown Toronto shopping centre at Yonge and Bloor. From the second season, the series featured an increasing proportion of Canadian guests and subjects. In 1979, the series travelled from its normal Toronto studio with episodes produced in various Canadian cities such as Halifax, Ottawa and Vancouver. Doug Collins (journalist)
Reginald Douglas Collins (8 September 1920 – 29 September 2001) was a British-born Canadian journalist. He was also a Holocaust denier who was frequently accused of racism and anti-Semitism. Military service At the start of World War II he joined the British Army. As a sergeant in the Gloucestershire Regiment, he was captured in the Battle of Dunkirk in 1940, later being awarded the Military Medal for bravery during this campaign. During his four years as a prisoner of war, he made no fewer than ten escape attempts. He was able to escape from a German POW camp in Silesia and stealthily made his way to Hungary. After being captured there, he made another daring escape, this time making his way to Romania. There he was imprisoned once again, but when Romania capitulated in 1944, he was freed and returned to Britain, serving in combat with British forces in northwest Europe during the war's final months. Queen's University At Kingston
Queen's University at Kingston, commonly known as Queen's University or simply Queen's, is a public research university in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Queen's holds more than of land throughout Ontario and owns Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, England. Queen's is organized into eight faculties and schools. The Church of Scotland established Queen's College in October 1841 via a royal charter from Queen Victoria. The first classes, intended to prepare students for the ministry, were held 7 March 1842 with 13 students and two professors. In 1869, Queen's was the first Canadian university west of the Maritime provinces to admit women. In 1883, a women's college for medical education affiliated with Queen's University was established after male staff and students reacted with hostility to the admission of women to the university's medical classes.
