Swingin' The Alphabet
"Swingin' the Alphabet" is a novelty song sung by The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard) in their 1938 short film ''Violent Is the Word for Curly.'' It is the only full-length song performed by the trio in their short films, and the only time they mimed to their own pre-recorded soundtrack. It contains a censor-baiting line; when the singers start ringing the changes on the letter "F" it seems as though an obscene word will result, but it does not. For their 1959 album ''The Nonsense Songbook'', the Stooges re-recorded the song (retitled as "The Alphabet Song") with Moe, Larry, and Curly-Joe DeRita (filling in for Curly Howard, who died in January 1952). The letters "G", "H", "J", "K", "L", "M", and the "Curly's a dope" line were omitted, and new lyrics featuring the letters "N," "P", "Q", "R", "S", "T", "V", "W", "X", "Y", and "Z" were added. Dale Alvin Gribble (born July 12, 1953) is a fictional character in the Fox animated series ''King of the Hill'', voiced by Johnny Hardwick. He is an exterminator, bounty hunter, owner of Daletech, chain smoker, gun fanatic, and paranoid believer of almost all conspiracy theories and urban legends. "The Name Game" is a song co-written and performed by Shirley Ellis as a rhyming game that creates variations on a person's name. She explains through speaking and singing how to play the game. The first verse is done using Ellis's first name; the other names used in the original version of the song are Lincoln, Arnold, Tony, Billy, Marsha, and Nick. ''The X-Presidents'' is an NBC/''Saturday Night Live'' '' Saturday TV Funhouse'' cartoon created by Robert Smigel and animated by J. J. Sedelmaier Productions. Plot This cartoon features the four former American Presidents who were still alive in 1997 — Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush (all of whom were voiced by Jim Morris) — as a superhero team. This recurring sketch debuted on January 11, 1997, and a total of nine installments were produced between 1997 and 2004. Vincent Eugene Craddock (February 11, 1935 – October 12, 1971), known as Gene Vincent, was an American musician who pioneered the styles of rockabilly and rock and roll. ''The Three Stooges'' is a video game released by Cinemaware in 1987 for the Amiga based on the The Three Stooges, comedy trio of the same name. Players control Stooges Moe Howard, Moe, Larry Fine, Larry, and Curly Howard, Curly in minigames based on Stooges films with the aim of raising enough money to save an orphanage. It was ported to the Apple IIGS, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, Nintendo Entertainment System, NES and Game Boy Advance.
