Swimming At The 2011 World Aquatics Championships – Women's 50 Metre Freestyle
The women's 50 metre freestyle competition of the swimming events at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships was held on July 30 with the heats and the semifinals and July 31 with the final. Therese Alshammar
Malin Therese Alshammar (born 26 August 1977) is a Swedish swimmer who has won three Olympic medals, 25 World Championship medals, and 43 European Championship medals. She is a specialist in short distances races in freestyle and butterfly. She is coached by former Swedish swimmer Johan Wallberg. She is the first female swimmer and the third overall (after Lars Frölander and Derya Büyükuncu) to participate in six Olympic Games. Jeanette Ottesen (born 30 December 1987) is a Danish competitive swimmer who participated at the 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. In total she has won 50 international medals. Hannah Wilson
Hannah Jane Arnett Wilson (; born 10 March 1989) is a Hong Kong retired amateur swimmer. She is a three-time Olympic swimmer for Hong Kong, having swum at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She has won two career Universiade gold medals. As of July 11, 2009, Wilson currently holds 10 Hong Kong records and two Universiade records in swimming. However, she struggled but eventually received the International Olympic Committee's permission to race in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Originally the IOC's policy would have barred Wilson from representing Hong Kong (she held a British passport, and being still a minor she could not renounce her British citizenship), which was a cause for distress throughout Hong Kong. Ragnheiður Ragnarsdóttir, also known as Ragga Ragnars (born 24 October 1984) is an Icelandic actress and former swimmer, who specialised in sprint freestyle events. Darya Stepanyuk ( uk, Дар'я Степанюк, also Daria Stepaniuk, born 22 May 1990 in Kharkiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian swimmer. After finishing college, Stepanyuk entered KNAPK as part of the cycle sport faculty. Stepanyuk has broken several Ukrainian swimming records, and took part in the 2008 Olympic Games. Today she trains and works at Akvarena swimming pool in Kharkiv, and participates in various Ukrainian, European and world competitions. During the 2009 Summer Universiade, Stepanyuk won gold medal in 100 m freestyle. The same year, she also participated at the Ukrainian Cup at which she won a gold medal in 100 m freestyle which was her second win at UC. Triin Aljand (born 8 July 1985) is a retired Estonian swimmer who won a silver medal at the 2012 European Aquatics Championships in 50 m butterfly.
