The men's 200 metre freestyle competition of the swimming events at the 2011 Pan American Games took place on October 18 at the Scotiabank Aquatics Center in the municipality of Zapopan, near Guadalajara, Mexico. Scotiabank Aquatics Center
The Scotiabank Aquatics Center is an aquatics center built for the 2011 Pan American Games in the municipality of Zapopan, near Guadalajara, Mexico. It was opened June 22, 2011, built at a cost of $USD31.7m (380 million pesos). It is the most modern aquatic complex of its kind in Latin America, and considered to be the second best in the world by the Fédération Internationale de Natation. It has a permanent capacity 3,593, but will have a capacity of 5,000 spectators for the Pan American Games. The outside of the building is shaped like a wave. It contains two 50m Olympic sized pools and a diving tank. During the 2011 Pan America Games it will host the swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water polo. After the Pan American Games it will used as a high performance training centre, and for the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Nicolas Nilo César de Oliveira (born 4 August 1987) is a Brazilian former freestyle swimmer who specialized in sprint events. International career 2006–2008 Oliveira swam at the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, where he finished 6th in the 4 × 200-metre freestyle, 14th in the 100-metre freestyle, 25th in the 200-metre freestyle, and was disqualified in the 4 × 100-metre freestyle. Daniele Tirabassi (born August 16, 1988) is a Venezuelan swimmer, who specialized in long-distance freestyle events. He represented his nation Venezuela at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has also won a career total of five medals (two golds, one silver, and two bronze) in a major international competition, spanning two editions of the South American Games and the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. Cristian Daniel Quintero Valero (born 14 October 1992 in Maracay) is a Venezuelan swimmer. He is a member of the Venezuela national team, and represented his country at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Quintero won a silver medal at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics for the 200 yard freestyle. He won gold medals in the 2010 South American Games as a part of the Venezuela's 400 meter and 800 meter freestyle relay teams.
