Sweet Homewrecker
''Sweet Homewrecker'' is the first full-length album by Canadian rock band Thrush Hermit. It was released on Elektra Records in 1997. Recording and promotion Following several independent EPs, Thrush Hermit signed to Elektra Records in 1996. They drove to Memphis, Tennessee to record ''Sweet Homewrecker'' at Easley Studio with Doug Easley. Bassist Ian McGettigan remembered in a 2019 interview that, "It was a pretty scrappy neighbourhood. We would go to the big Kroegers grocery store down the street to get microwave burritos. There were no white people in this area at all." Due to a lack of interest from Elektra, there was initially no video to support the album. The band eventually decided to make a video themselves for the song "On the Sneak", which aired on Canadian channel MuchMusic in late 1997. The video features McGettigan on lead vocals. William Joel MacDonald Plaskett (born April 18, 1975) is a Canadian rock musician and songwriter based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was a member of Halifax alternative rock band Thrush Hermit in the 1990s. Plaskett performs in a number of genres, from blues and folk to hard rock, country, and pop. Plaskett's songwriting frequently contains allusions to his home city, Halifax. With his band The Emergency, he has toured throughout North America and Europe with The Tragically Hip, Sloan, Bill Plaskett (his father), and Kathleen Edwards. Pop Rock

Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. ''In Music We Trust'' is a music webzine, publicity company, and record label based in Portland, Oregon. It was established as a webzine in July 1997 by Alex Steininger and his friend Ryan O'Neill. Its original goal was to help promote work by new artists. Steininger founded the website after losing his job at another online magazine, when he contacted O'Neill for his web design expertise and asked him for help. The website was named a "cool site" by the Open Directory Project. Record label In 2001, Steininger started In Music We Trust Records; its first release was Sean Croghan's debut solo album. Thrush Hermit
Thrush Hermit was a Canadian alternative rock band active in the 1990s, known for their "highly energetic, humorous, and unpredictable performances," as quoted by Vice News. History Thrush Hermit was formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1992 by Joel Plaskett (vocals, guitar), Rob Benvie (vocals, guitar), Ian McGettigan (vocals, bass), and Michael Catano (drums). Catano was replaced by Cliff Gibb in 1994; Gibb in turn left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Benn Ross. They signed with Murderecords in 1994 in time to release their ''Smart Bomb'' EP, which featured Benvie's song "French Inhale" and Plaskett's "Hated It".
