In Music We Trust
''In Music We Trust'' is a music webzine, publicity company, and record label based in Portland, Oregon. It was established as a webzine in July 1997 by Alex Steininger and his friend Ryan O'Neill. Its original goal was to help promote work by new artists. Steininger founded the website after losing his job at another online magazine, when he contacted O'Neill for his web design expertise and asked him for help. The website was named a "cool site" by the Open Directory Project. Record label In 2001, Steininger started In Music We Trust Records; its first release was Sean Croghan's debut solo album. That year, the ''Willamette Week'' reported that "In just a few short years of music obsession, Steininger has transformed himself into a dynamo of Portland's music scene, releasing albums by local supremos Luther Russell, Sean Croghan and Joe Davis." Grand Champeen
Grand Champeen is an Austin, Texas-based rock band. Formation and early years Guitarists/vocalists Channing Lewis and Michael Crow met drummer Ned Stewart while attending the private boarding school Woodberry Forest, located in Woodberry Forest, Virginia. As freshmen, they formed the cover band Frosted Megawheats with another student, Will Minor, on bass. After high school graduation in 1993, the group reconnected during summers while two of the band members, Crow and Lewis, attended University of Colorado-Boulder, and Stewart attended James Madison University. In the summer of 1994, the group, now renamed Mucho Maas in homage to a character from Thomas Pynchon's ''The Crying of Lot 49,'' recorded an album of original songs in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Hillstomp is an American punk blues duo consisting of Henry Hill Kammerer and John "Lord Buckets" Johnson from Portland, Oregon, known for unique versions of traditional material and energetic live performances. Casey Neill is an American musician. He leads Portland, Oregon-based band Casey Neill & The Norway Rats, singing with a raspy vocal quality and playing electric and acoustic guitars. Matthew Kelly Sharp (born September 22, 1969) is an American songwriter and musician. Until 1998, he was the bassist for the alternative rock band Weezer, which he cofounded in 1992.
