Swedish Civil Defence Board
Swedish Civil Defence Board ( sv, Civilförsvarsstyrelsen, Cfs) was a central government agency between 1944 and 1986 which exercised the central management of the civil defense in Sweden. History The Swedish Civil Defence Board was established on 1 October 1944 ( SFS 1944:636) and had the task of exercising the central management of the civil defense in Sweden and also handle certain matters concerning the so-called Peace Fire Services (''Fredsbrandsväsendet'') (SFS 1948:735). The agency replaced the Air Protection Inspectorate (''Luftskyddsinspektionen'') and the Evacuation Commission (''Utrymmningskommissionen'') (SFS 1944:636). Civil Defense
Civil defense ( en, region=gb, civil defence) or civil protection is an effort to protect the citizens of a state (generally non-combatants) from man-made and natural disasters. It uses the principles of emergency operations: prevention, mitigation, preparation, response, or emergency evacuation and recovery. Programs of this sort were initially discussed at least as early as the 1920s and were implemented in some countries during the 1930s as the threat of war and aerial bombardment grew. Civil-defense structures became widespread after authorities recognised the threats posed by nuclear weapons. Since the end of the Cold War, the focus of civil defense has largely shifted from responding to military attack to dealing with emergencies and disasters in general. Rescue Services Agency (Sweden)
The Swedish Rescue Services Agency (SRSA) ( sv, Statens räddningsverk (SRV)) was the central supervisory Government agencies in Sweden, government agency for the rescue services in Sweden until 2008, after which it merged into the newly formed Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency on January 1, 2009. It promoted emergency management practice that improved disaster prevention and response, and in the event of an incident/accident limited injury and damage. This was achieved among other ways by conveying information, by running training courses and holding exercises, and through supervision. Government function The SRSA was the central Sweden, Swedish supervisory government authority for the rescue services. The Ministry of the Interior ( sv, Inrikesdepartementet, In) was a ministry in Sweden established in 1947. The department dealt with matters concerning general health and medical care, the police service, the fire service, and the local government. The ministry was headed by the minister of the interior. At the end of 1973, the Ministry of the Interior ceased to exist and the activities were taken over by other ministries, such as the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of Housing. Tylösand is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality situated in Halmstad Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 399 inhabitants in 2010. It is located 7 km west of Halmstad, on Tyludden. Skövde
Skövde () is a locality and urban centre in Skövde Municipality and Västra Götaland County, in the Västergötland (Western Gothland region) in central Southern Sweden. Skövde is situated some 150 km northeast of Gothenburg, between Sweden's two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern. It lies on the eastern slope of a low mountain ridge, Billingen (304 m), which cuts through the plain between the lakes.
